Great video. The brakes on Lara 2, prop shaft on little Hilda, complex quad exhaust .... lots of things to like here! These videos are inspiring.

Some beautiful works of engineering art on display in this episode Dave and team, going even bigger with King shocks…wow…I’m happy with my Bilsteins, but if I won the lottery I’d definitely do an equivalent (although a bit better), little Cagney crossed with Little Hilda project - have a great Christmas break to the whole Mahker crew and all the best for 2025 ! ❤ Mahker

Having had king shocks I will say , extremely strong, off road they are awesome. Great for what they are designed for.Generally the only issue is the low speed valving, which can be firm on the small bumps day to day use. Gone back to Koni raid 90s 👍 Great work guys !

You are right Dave, Defenders are great vehicles if you MAINTAIN them on a regular basis. Best Regards from Belgium.

What modifications would you recommend making to a defender 90 to be able to squeeze someone who is generously proportioned and 6ft2? Also in term of cabin space is a puma out the question?

I'm 6'1 and have a Puma, with the extended seat rails I fit fine. Can't drive with the sun visor down mind 😅

Oh dear. The reservoir helps hardly with the cooling as very little oil from the shock makes it up there, (well actually the volume of the moving shock shaft only, to be precise) unless you run cactus coolers. But it reduces the risk of cavitation and makes rebuilds much quicker, plus the option to run adjusters. King Europe should know a bit better.... and shock fading on a (non-racing) Land Rover? Good luck getting them that hot, haha. Once the stickers peal is where it is getting interesting. Most shock fluids go down due to cavitation. BTW, profile pic car (built in 2008) has 3.0 king bypass, 2.5 C/O plus bumpstops.
