Good to see that the new Defender has good ground clearance, approach/departure/break-over angles, low gear transfer case and center+rear diff locks. I only regret the wheel size being to big (18in min)and the air suspension that brings reliability questions.

I drove my first one today, and as a 30 year landy owner of everything from 200tdi 90s, to Discoveries of all but the very latest, this vehicle is absolutely exceptional. Its a world beater. This is a legitimate offroad vehicle. Yeah solid axles provide more travel and are easier to lift but this isn't the 1950's- the worlds infrastructure has developed alot since the defenders inception. Independent suspension with lockers and inline engines are totally the way to go for caravan towing and overland travel. Land rover really nailed it with this model. The new Defender is definately the king of 4x4's, and imo it beats the G Wagen and Land Cruiser in overall utility and usefulness.

Land Rover what about versatility? Here in Australia dual and single cab utilities are a massive market. The Hilux and Ranger are regular top sellers across all vehicle categories. it will be subjected to modification , tuning and redesigning from outside and inside beside try to enhance the performanceof very capable engines by other outside tuning and modification companies , their is need for a pickup in 110 - 130 and maybe a classic fully or semi open roof in the 90 .

@@coolsquad7428 I'm a mechanic by trade, new landrovers are overcomplicated Indian junk. The prado is a superior vehicle in every way, even has a fridge in the centre console... The prado is only the midrange. The landcruiser 300 is the luxury option and it still has a body on frame construction which is far superior.
