I owned a defender 10 years ago and struggled through the diy on it. Your videos make it a pleasure to work on my new(1985) defender, thank you. I also enjoy your tool recommendations and have purchased a few handy bits on your advice. I was wondering where is a good place to buy in bulk things like fittings for door trims, bolts, screws etc in bulk as they can work out expensive if you buy one at a time and you won't really know the exact size you need until you need it, i.e. where to stock up on an assorted box suitable for the defender, thanks again!

+Padraic Seosamh Waters Ah yes. Boxes of screws, bolts, nuts, clips etc you'll need to do some research. I get mine from a company called Cromwell Supplies in East Anglia. I'd advise finding a professional engineering supplies company then get some catalogs off them to browse. Plenty of suppliers on the internet however. I'll be showing some assortment boxes as we go through the build work.

What a crazy design having aluminium body parts and a steel bulkhead. Planned redundancy.

In all the time they made those vehicles and had the time to identify those problem area's it's criminal that they didn't address the rust problems and better protect them over the years. Just some bitumen sealer at the bulkhead ends and in that mud trap would have been better than nothing.
