So don't throw out the plastic ring that the seal is shipped with. I will remember that for next time.

My diff started making some awful noises recently and was sluggish going in and out of difflock. This series gave me the confidence to tackle the repair and so far its going smoothly. Thank you for this incredible series! Note for my disco friends out there: the diff is removable without taking the transfer case or hi/lo gearset out. Makes for a much simpler job!

So being a cp1s3 pump that doesn't actually have a volume control valve, that's actually a pressure regulator on the pump aka DRV 😅

I have a series 2a with a suspected bent front axle... ie the front nearside wheel is sloping out towards the top (toeing out) can this be adjusted I have already changed the swivel pin on that side which was worn but it has made no difference to wheel alignment. Some one has welded a load of trussing to the front axle (lower only no trussing above I suspect distortion) in the past way before my purchase this may have distorted it perhaps??? I am thinking the flange plate on the end of the axle housing may be pie cut almost off and re-welded straight any thoughts any body? Further to this note I may just cut off the lower truss and see if she comes straight perhaps?

I have a defender 200tdi . I don’t have the plug in the side of the flywheel case to look for the two marks on the flywheel. How do I know if I have the locking pin in the right slot ? Got crank key way set to arrow on front plate tdc is set , cam shaft mark lines up and got the locking pin in the FIP. It turns over but won’t fire up . Any ideas ? Thanks

Its never helpful if you do stuff on the bench and miss out the things that people struggle with. PLEASE SHOW US UNDOING THINGS IN THE VEHICLE where space is limited and radiator hoses and all sorts of other things are in the way.

Hydrogen needs to develop better storage in a regular automobile to be viable, currently the tank for it would not really make for a good, petrol or diesel comparative range.

My disco wouldn’t run, I changed the fuel pressure regulator and the pump . Still wouldn’t run . Eventually I studied the fuel system and found that little filter in the fuel line .took it out and hey presto, worked perfectly. That was about 8 years ago.never did replace it 😂
