Good review. It looks like that gator pulled a lot of their designs from their lawnmower or at least used the same designers. The Can-Am looks to be an fresh design that is well thought out.

That bar that is at both sides of edges of the seat is a nice feature for those of us who either have lower stregenth or have bad balance or like me are paralyzed. We can rely on that bar to make shure we dont just slide out of the machine accidentally bacause we cant feel our rear end.

The gator is work vehicle with a little sporty edge. The Can Am is cute little toy

One looks way better than the other but one would last way longer than the other

You can lift the bed from both sides, but if you’re too lazy to walk around just get automatic dump!

As i am a 6' 4" 15 year old boy from South Eastern MN, I believe that Gators have plenty of leg room in all models.

A. It's You're, not your. B. What exactly makes me "Dumb" and "A Fool"? C. What makes you think that I am not currently in School? D. You shouldn't get mad at someone for just stating their own personal experience with machinery, as well as going ahead to assume that they are foolish/unintelligent just based on age. E. I might be going out on a limb here, but I'd say you're a butt hurt, Can-Am/Polaris guy (Most likely in his Teens) who can't accept that the Gator is a fine top competitor for both Work and Sport purposes. I really think that you should learn to accept that people can offer online advice from personal experiences, and that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.

Jacob Johnson speaking from personal experience. I’ve owned John Deere for years on my property. Finally switched my equipment to Toro and I never looked back. Comfort, reliability, to name few that John Deere was lacking. As far as UTV world, Polaris is overall leader, dominating market with 60% of sales followed by CanAm. These machines are tough, fast, handling is excellent, work and play rolled into one. I used to think that John Deere was this no nonsense tough macho machine that never broke down, was I ever wrong. Keep your options open. Try new things, they might even surprise you.

Your to kind. That gator has not been up dated in 20 years. Not sure what the appeal is to an antiquated

Bars that ride up your rear end and gaping holes. Must be a new farm trend, lol.

"Grease is the life of the machine" simply not true, maintaining your equipment is always how you keep em running, greasing is just part of maintaining the machine

One of the things that he faulted the JD for was non-waterproof storage, but none was waterproof on the Defender. It appears that the man is using a standard issue JD while they have a top of the line Defender. Does not fail on the parking brake? Yeah, right.

John deere has a much bigger bed. Some of us value a big bed. As for the sealed bushings they are the way to go. Can am is behind on this. This is the future and can am will be following suit in a matter of time. That is not to say that a greased joint wouldn't outlast the other in a perfect situation where everything would be greased perfectly on time. But in the real world it doesn't work that way. Most atvs and vehicles have went the sealed route long ago.
@WilliamStewart16 жыл бұрын
I hate sealed bushings to be honest, not hard to run around with a grease gun after you wash it off.

I’ll put my money on the John Deere to run longer and be more dependable. Any day

I live on a farm, and my uncles Gator just blew its transmission from standard use and maintenance.
@jordanbowey41755 жыл бұрын
brian robinson we have big on the farm and the gators always fucked and it’s less capable. If we only had the gator we’d be completely fucked without the dogs.

Had John Deere, nothing but headaches

My 9 year old Gator 825i has been used hard on the farm since new. All I’ve done is basic maintenance, and it’s never failed. Most of the farmers and ranchers I know with Can-Am or Polaris machines have had lots of issues. I’ll stick with JD.
@txlonghornremodeling2 жыл бұрын
@@jordanbowey4175 I hunt on a 22,000 acre ranch. The only machines that have lasted are the gators. We have 6 825’s and not one single issue. Sorry you got a bad one

The defender is obviously better for me

John Deere needed a tilt wheel, the shifter in the middle of the seat was beyond dumb from a design perspective.

You’re not comparing apples to apples. Compare the Defender to a Ranger 1000. More equally matched.

Got my can am $1500 cheaper than a gator. I had narrowed down to the two UTV’s and ultimately the price and the leg room of the can am swayed me to the can am.

Because once you know the price, you’ll laugh how much you pay for how little.

It would be nice if he would have used a Gator that was equipped like the CanAm instead of using a basic 825i. That one there is the bone stock no frills Gator suited for 100% work. My 825i looks nothing like this one.
@austinmyers24455 жыл бұрын
What if I told you the XT was the work model of Defender so the comparison was fair?
@hamiltoncouple014 жыл бұрын
That is true, this CanAm is the work machine. This is almost basic vs what you can get from higher models.

@austinmyers24455 жыл бұрын
Trust me, the difference in a "play vehicle" and either of these is incredible. My brother has a Maverick X3 Turbo R, and neither one of these could keep up on any surface. The Gators are not bad, but the Defender is every bit as tough, and more comfortable. @EJSFilms2K
@hamiltoncouple014 жыл бұрын
Had John Deere and it’s seriously not much to brag about. And you still pay top dollar. They are built more old school, more manual, less electronics. Better for some, worst for others. I used to use John Deere around my property and switched to TORO. Never looked back. Comfort, speed, dependability, things John Deere just couldn’t deliver. Top contenders are still CanAm and Polaris. Polaris cornered the Off-Road/Utility market with 60% over all sales. Both companies are very innovative, but if you’re looking for more accessories, softer ride, better DPS (more responsive), then Polaris would be your choice. Honda is very good too, but comfort is slightly sacrificed and price is not very attractive. Kubota is close to John Deere so it is closely matched to John Deere, but it’s does offer somewhat more and less (ass-bars and gaping holes not included, lol).

The New 2018 John Deere is totally different. Don’t compare an old model John Deere to a new model CanAm. You must be a Democrat just because you say it doesn’t make it true.
