So bloody annoying - I pay a license fee for music rights, I edit to a specific track then when you upload KZbin says there is a copyright issue! I tried fighting them on it but got nowhere so had to either cut it to new music and upload again or simply try and drop in an existing licensed track which is the route I went. Unfortunately it mutes parts that it isn’t meant...really grumpy about it to be honest

@@MariusRobertsProductions KZbin are getting ridiculous with their copyright infringement it’s spoiling some potentially great content. I enjoyed the video nonetheless!

@@danielrichards8472 Thanks! The music rights situation is a tricky one though because I don’t know how they track who has paid rights where?!? So I am too scared to use libraries other than what KZbin offers now just in case

Great video thanks, the wading depth that showed at 2:54 was 0.8 metres, however, it is 0.9in the UK? I don't understand
@MariusRobertsProductions3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments and for the question. The maximum wade depth is 0.9m but that can vary depending on the height of the air suspension and the mode that you are in. Clever electronics some may say - too tech heavy and potential problems off the beaten track say others, but I trust that answers your question.

I hear you! Just did a 6 day Defender Trophy trip through Maputaland in the D90 - superbly capable and now a genuine SUV for the daily commute BUT compared with the older models, completely disconnected from the rough stuff driving experience. Its all too convenient with the push of a button..

Couldn’t agree with you more! The model lineup is just ridiculous - too many options and spec levels! And trying to get a base model in a press fleet NEVER happens yet that’s always the true test of a vehicle for me!

@@MariusRobertsProductions Marius, one more query, if you have the info and can assist. Will the shorty be compromised vs the 110 in terms of towing stability? I will tow on occasion either a bike trailer with 2 adventure or 3 dirt bikes, a 24 foot boat (dam boat, not surf launching), or a Conqueror Commander off road caravan?
@MariusRobertsProductions3 жыл бұрын
Hey Peter Great question - in terms of towing capabilities, they both have the same figures @ 750kg unbraked and 3500kg braked BUT I know your question is more around the stability with the shorter wheelbase: The difference in overall length between the two (total length not WB) is 435mm Unladen weight difference of 112kg Max laden weight vehicle and trailer is 6470kg versus 6780kg So in my head it makes sense that the 90 will be less stable, more susceptible to cross winds etc BUT that's where the electronics will come into play and work their magic - so they will be working harder so that you don't have to is how I see it working. Hope that helps...

Old landrovers were simple, easy to repair and mostly owners used to repair themselves (hardcore fans). After 5-7 years these models will stack up and no mechanic workshop gonna repair those because of too much electronics. They could have come up with another model which is simple like the old one and looks rocky.
@MariusRobertsProductions3 жыл бұрын
I agree 💯 with you but it’s a numbers game & they’re going to sell a ton more of the new Defender than a stripped down old hardcore version. Way more people out there who like to know they can go off-road than the ones who actually do
@lbco52293 жыл бұрын
I agree with Marius ... not enough people purchased the ‘old’ style and they wouldn’t pass modern crash test standards.

JLR should have give it a different name, so that is not confused in, eg internet searches, with the real Defender. The square model, the one you can drive yourself without computers doing the offroad driving.
@MariusRobertsProductions3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a part of me that agrees with you on that. I guess at the end of the day, its a marketing thing - those who really want the rough and rugged are a really small group so essentially bring out a Disco with more rugged styling opens up that massive market of SUV / bakkie owners who like to know they can but very seldom will.

So what would you have liked to see James? Rock crawling over Everest and wading through the Nile? The capabilities of Defender and in fact, the entire Land Rover range is very well documented and reported - having Terrain Response 2 makes taking Defender off the beaten track way easier for the non enthusiast. BUT what you need to remember is that this car is now no longer aimed at the adventurer but rather the image conscious consumer looking for street cred and comfort in the fact that they can pretty much go anywhere - will they? No - probably never. So that's the angle that I went with on my review. Also, if you look at the spec on the press car I was given, there is no ways I would be rock crawling with those black alloys or bush dancing with that paintwork...when they give me a base model with steel wheels I will happily do an off-road capability review for you.

For sure its a big concern - when you our out in the middle of nowhere you don't want to be relying on high tech and sensors - if they do give problems, vehicle usually shuts down and impossible to fix without plugging into a diagnostic machine. BUT its targeting a new audience - someone who will never likely go anywhere but loves the idea that they can!

@@reviewerbibhuti5100 If you mean that the owner has a spare Defender in the garage for when the first one is in the shop, I guess you're right. This is a great rig, a real swiss army knife. But as a long-term owner, I'd like it to provide me with good service after the shine is gone. And when things break years after purchase, which they inevitably do, I'd like to be able to get it repaired for a reasonable cost. As attractive as the Defender is, I don't know that it has those attributes.
