Definitely my favorite jiu jitsu guy. A wizard that is humble and clear.

Everything old is new again...amazing to see wrestling moves working their way into JJ techniques. Proves the power of having an open mind!

Jiu-jitsu has been taking wrestling moves since day one. All the 1st and 2nd generation Gracies had private wrestling coaches (either Catch/LutaLivre or Freestyle). Danaher guys are mainly former wrestlers. So is Eddie Bravo. Etc. Etc. Taking wrestling out of Brazilian jiu-jitsu regress it back to Japanese jiu-jitsu / Aikido wrist lock territory. I doubt anyone wants to go back there again.

This is the best bjj video on whole youtube, absolute game changer when rollig with wrestlers or grspplers with pressure passing style!!
@bengough69553 ай бұрын
I often roll with a heavy blue (white belt here) and I'm getting better but he has good pressure and did this to me earlier... I had no idea what to do when he grabbed my legs lol I will be looking to try this liberally next week 😅 great stuff, loving learning

Amazing guard retention against a common pass. Too often people just concede to their back with this style of pass. Thank you for sharing this.

Wow, I saw this this morning right before practice and then once I got to rolling I found an opportunity to make use of this first technique already. Thanks

Thanks for a great post. I do the hip escape alot from there as I use butterfly guard alot. So everyone tries this pass on me. Going even more offensive is counter intuitive. But I'm going to try like hell with this.

Hey Professor, This is great. This would work against an Old School (Ribeiro/ Lovato) "side-smash" too, right? Or am I missing something?
@mathiasS246 жыл бұрын
I have a question Professor. At 3:55where youre opponent is in the turtle position ,instead of puting your right leg up to go for the back, could you put your left leg up but still have your right knee down and he is still reaching for your leg and he traps his own arm when you go for the crucifix from there. Thanks for the great videos. Greetings from Austria.

This move can be risky. The top guy has an arm triangle opportunity all day long if you don't 100% commit to projecting your upper body forward.
@kallepikku49913 жыл бұрын
Using wrestling counters against wrestling techniques. Who would've thought of that? It's funny that casual fans need a grappling genius to tell them that. Next Giles will be teaching the fanboys to chew their food before swallowing.
