Wrong. "Congo" was private property of Leopold Von Saxen Coburg Gotha, the son of a German immigrant in Belgium, who married a French princess. he got "Congo" on the Conference of Berlin, 1884. Belgian government, nor parliament were involved. He called his private dominion "Congo Freestate". ... in 1909, he was forced to give it to Belgium, due to the atrocities of his private army, the "Force Publique". It remained a colony till 1960, 51 years later. This lesson in history was for free, Pierre.
