I am going with MMC's version of Defensor. Their version of Bruticus was outstanding! I love the all-in-one gimmick. Even the individual bots were nicely done.

I actually think that xtb Defensor looks better, but overall, when all things are considered including the quality, the reliability, and the fact that we don't have to worry about them trying to pull some shenanigans at the end to squeeze us for an extra 200+ bucks, I'm sticking with MMC and dropping xtb this time around.

I'm fairly new to 3rd party Transformers as I used to collect nothing but Takara Tomy. It's been about a year now so I've missed out on a lot of really great figures but, I've also managed to pick quite a few up for super cheap, just have to be patient. Anyway, I'm going with MMC as I think they make better Transformers. I have several X-transbots figures and while they're nice, done of their transformation can beat nightmare. This is true for Fans Toys as well. Only problem is MMC is they don't contain as much diecasts, if any, and they're not fully painted, which none of mine are.

Same here. As I stated in other comments, Xtb, IMO, isn't good enough for engeniring an entire combiner. For "not combiners" they are good enough, at least for, always IMO, 80% of their release. MMC is out scale for my taste, so I will wait for a Zeta or a DX9, hoping DX9 returns to produce new things rather than continuing reissues. As for FT... I'm of the same idea as Tydirium: the things that make FT products exceptional could, maybe, be a problem with the combined mode. Maybe not, this is not a fact, having no reference to that regard.

I'm holding out hope that Zeta does Defensor. I already have their Bruticus, Superion and the DX9 Menasor and Omega Supreme. So these smaller Defensors won't really work for my display.

It’s going to be the same size as the xtb Menasor. Which is smaller than the zeta combiners. If they end up changing that and it is as large as the zetas, I’ll reconsider, but everything that has been reported so far has said it will be smaller.

@@cultofkraken666 if you mean the xtb menasor, no. I own the DX9 menasor. And all of the reviews clearly show the xtb to be smaller than the DX9. Maybe the upgrade kit fixed the height issue, but at that point I would have had to shell out way more money for xtb than DX9. So if they’re doing the same thing with defensor then I’ll wait for zeta or someone else to do a proper scaled version

I don't own any of the Fans Toys Aerialbots or Stunticons, do the figures that make up their respective combiner's arms split apart at all? How does that work exactly? The ones that have already been released look amazing as individual bots but if I'm going to go all in on combiner teams I'd like them to be able to, you know, combine and look good doing so without keeling over or falling apart.

I loved what they did with the Stunticons, but hate the way they jumped from affordable to just as expensive as FT. I am intrigued by MMC though so I'll keep my eye on that one too

What's really great about these 2 sets being released together is that we can get 1 for Combine mode and the other for separate Bot mode. Also you won't feel it as much since you'll be getting one bot at time over the course of Several years 😆lol

XTB is parts forming just like their menasor, if u have a picture look closely u can see the arm parts ( shoulder joint ) is the same as menasor & further u can see where the figures connect. Both look awesome and I'm going in on both XTB & MMC with hope XTB get it right with the combine mode transformation this time around

I loved my XTB Monolith and I’m definitely going with their Defensor. MMC is way too small with the current crop of MP combiners. Maybe I’ll pick them up for individual bots if they end up looking more G1 toon.

For Menasor I'm kinda late to the party. There are problems with all three major versions. None of them have got it 100%, I would argue not even 80% on the money. The things are scale with MP, scale with one another, and the trailer controversy. I like DX9's scale with MP for Motormaster, but FT nails it with the cars. FT seems to nail it with scale between Motormaster and the cars but Motormaster is way too tall for MP scale (Megatron height). Then there is the trailer. XTB nails it with Motormaster being a two piece transformer, but that trailer is way too expensive and fiddly to transform. DX9 completely misses the boat with its ridiculousness, and FT does well with a full transformation, but the trailer wont disconnect. So none of them nail it for me by themselves. There is another that has been in development hell, Rising Force. Word is their scale will be complete with MP10 and will follow the Sunbow scale guide for the cars and Motormaster. So Im at odds here. Do I pay up and choose one that I undoubtedly have to harvest from the secondary market at ridiculously scaled up prices? Or, do I wait a around for options that may or may not materialize later? KO's maybe? But honestly, when was the last time a 3rd party offering was KO'd? I dont want to skip Menasor, but I'm not sure any of the current ones are really worth the money. None of them really strike me as must haves yet. I am leaning hard toward FT, but like I said it has problems and we still have no inkling of when they are going to finally finish it and what crazy price it will demand.

Zeta is great in combined mode bot bot modes suffer, DX9 is very solid but lacks the finish, Toyworld Has the Best Devy as the most popular opinion, Xtb looks great but Fiddly so it really does depend.

Tw for Devastator, you can have the normal one, the orange one, the cell shaded or the battle damaged one. Zeta for Superion e Bruticus, you can have the metallic version of both sets for less than 400 euro each. Dx9 made a awesome Menasor, despite many complaining about the rear leg cars or issue with Wildrider connection point (easy fix: 7 dollar adapter by GrafX or just a elastic behind WD wheels). This are the huge combiners. Solids like rocks, great in all modes, very well designed and engenired.

Apparently, I have decided to go with neither. I have seen some pictures from Ocular Max's Groove figure and it looks so good that I am going to order it when the release time will be published. I just recently saw a review of Medicus, the First Aid figure from the same company, and it looked great. So, at least with those two, my choice will be Ocular Max.

MMC loses with me because he's just too small. With X-transbots, while it overall looks better, especially the limbs. I just don't trust them not to pull any crap off backloading the most costly parts or QC being an issue. What happened with Locke and Monolith makes me hesitate bigly. I'll mark this one up as a huge "wait and see" type of thing.

xtransbots need to do al lot to win me back from the locke fiasco, also there menasor while ok it made some really poor choices, mmc i would be interested in but i saw a few people mention there bruticus stabilty due to the all in one gimmick and his thighs in the pictures are far too long to the point where it puts me off, maybe in hand it might be better, i dont think either will sell out all the fanstoys drones will be waiting for them to announce there so i think you'll be able to pick these up no issues at least till all the reviews and people have them in hand i feel

I've heard that the MMC Bruticus is pretty wobbly in combined mode. I'm still waiting for my trailer for Monolith, but the individual vehicles seem good. I hope Unique Toys does a Defensor to go with my UT Bruticus. If not I will probably pass on Defensor and save my money for the 'Computron Wars' in a year or two.

If there had been no trailergate on menasor then I would have been in on both of these sets, but after buying all the xtb stunticons, I just could not see value in buying that trailer, so I'm out on their defensor set as well. Which means, MMC will be my only protectobots set unless fanstoys gets it together.

The MMC one loses because of the all-in-one gimmick and smaller size. The Xtransbots Defensor will be a fine stand in until Fans Toys makes a Defensor. Scale is super important for me, and I want my combiners to be the same height. If it turns out that the Fans Toys Superion and Menasor will be duds (highly unlikely) then I will buy another Zeta Superion and a DX9 Menasor. Fortunately there are options.
