The distribution is crazy high because of the massive volatility at the start of August. Everyone forgot how much the market dropped the last week of July and first week of August, but the vix went to the third highest it had been since 2020 i believe. So the result is they collected lots of premium each day they sell puts in that environment.

the market is down 5% +- 1999 50%,,, 2008 58% ,,, 2020 35% ,,, 2022 27% It may tank but it hasn't yet , if it does these funds will have a lot of zeros in their price

They just have a more aggressive strategy because they sell in the money puts daily and strive for consistently high yield
