Good vids and quality i ve lived 15 mins from here my entire life and never knew it now I go here at least twice a month. These are the most stellar views and very simple ride and easy to get too. There are many walking trails too I find new things every time I go.

Yeah the place is really great. I regret only shooting enough footage for a 12 minute video. I honestly feel like that I didn't do the place justice. Perhaps I'll return at some point and do a new video! Thanks for watching!

Great video! I really love that your videos are straight-forward and that you're not trying to convince viewers to buy a bunch of crap that they don't need. Too many "influencers" out there making videos that are little more than product marketing showcases. I'm glad to see that some people still make videos with substance.
@DefiantOffroad2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that! I certainly don't have any issue with a channel utilizing sponsors to help fund their escapades, but I totally get what you mean.

@@DefiantOffroad Oh yeah, I get it. All that trail time gets expensive! While I'm at it, thanks for not forcing me to sub to a patreon page just to tell me where the trail is!

Great video! Our camping spots easy to find along this road ? Simple pull off spots on the side of the road or are there some a smidge off the road?
@DefiantOffroad5 ай бұрын
Thanks! I think that I probably should have shot a bit more footage though. The campsites are pretty much all right along the trail.

Thanks for finding you way here! I love watching overlanding videos, but I'll likely never set out on those kind of adventures. Maybe after I retire I'll have the time, but for now I'll have to be content to be a weekend warrior ! :)

Love the video. I subbed! Thinking about riding it this Saturday when I'm in Banner Elk for a gig. About how much time should I allow for Old 105 for traveling it & with stopping a time or two for drone footage? Also, what FPS did you film with your drone for those cinematic shots? awesome stuff boss man! keep at it!
@DefiantOffroad7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! I would plan for maybe about 2 hours or so, if you're going to stop and film stuff. I shoot all of my drone stuff at 60fps, but my videos are done at 30. I shoot at 60 so it gives me the flexibility to slow shots down a little if I want to. This video was done a while ago. I think I've gotten a little better since then, but who knows? Check out some of my newer videos and tell me what you think!

How long of a trail is this in respect to time and distance? Look's like a good time
@DefiantOffroad11 ай бұрын
It's about 14 miles long. If you don't stop to film every few minutes like I did, it'll probably take about 2.5 hours to complete.

Great video, wife and I are going up there this weekend for her first light offroad trip. Did you air down and if so what pressures?
@DefiantOffroad Жыл бұрын
I didn't air down, and it's totally not necessary there. However, it is a bumpy ride so airing down for comfort probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Generally if I air down for comfort, I only go down to about 25-27PSI ( I normally run 40 on the road)
@CavCat Жыл бұрын
I run 35 on road for my tacoma on toyo open country MT 285/70/17. Think 20 is safe there or go 25? I am on a 3 inch lift on kings and old man emu
@DefiantOffroad Жыл бұрын
Either will be fine. It's more or less just a glorified dirt road that gets bumpy.

Doing it in winter allows you to see farther but fall would be beautiful. I did live in NC for a year and didn't know about this 😞 My Uncle Sam even provided camping gear but the Mustang I had then wouldn't have been ideal. I'll need to do this with the LR4 😀
