Defined King James Bible Large Print

I have had a Defined King James Bible for years now. My Pastor who passed away not long ago is the one who helped me get it. My Bible is the 2nd wording. AS you explained in the video everything that was in my old Bible helps me greatly. And I look forward to my new Bible. 😊 35:37

...that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish.... To change "believeth" to "believe" removes precise word tense and makes it less precise in modern vernacular, even if people find it easier to speak from their mouths. This is the issue I have with Bible "guides" or "helps" or "definitions" that promise to provide aid to the KJB reader. There is a reason the translators that James commissioned chose to use these suffixes and precise words, and it wasn't because in the early 1600's that it was commonly used in speaking or writing, but rather that they were exact, precise, accurate English words that would transfer source language precision to the English without any loss. Yes there are some words difficult to pronounce, but since when was that ever not an issue in English? Even today there are mass amounts of words in English difficult to pronounce and which dictionary definition is required for most people. Reading the KJB isn't any different in the need to develop the talent of the tongue and to build the understanding of the mind. Overall, the Defined King James Bible seems like a pretty good help, with some caveats which I think can be misleading by impression.

Interesting, I wonder why you would use a Westcott ruler to illustrate the size of the KJV Bible?

To clarify, it's just a quality stainless steel ruler from Acme United Corporation (founded by Charles and Frank Westcott in 1872) and has nothing to do with "Westcott and Hort" (Brooke Foss Westcott and F.J.A. Hort) of Anti-Textus Receptus fame.

Very bad see through - love the Bible - but poor weak paper ??? Spend a-little more money on better paper - Wide margin bibles with poor paper …. Don’t make sense ? Why ?

That's a good question for the publisher for sure. We would imagine it has to do with having to change printers and the overall increased cost of production and printing in this day and age. Since this bible was Out of Print for almost 3 years, we're sure they were struggling to reprint and get "something" back out in the market. The KJV Store was not consulted on that process or the specs of this bible though. God Bless.

We would agree. Unfortunately this bible is very close to being out of print again due to more troubles from the publisher. Once our last 50 or so sell out (as of June 2024) these may be unavailable again for some time in ANY format.

@@TheKJVStore If you can tell me, how many of these have you sold? It seems like with just a bit better paper, and frankly cleaned up lettering on the cover and spine, this is a really nice Bible. Do you have any recommendations for similar Bibles they have the definitions, etc? Something that could be given to someone not used to the KJV?
