Without too much spoilers here are some infos about the characters: Dr Ratio is a really sassy guy who uses maths to attack. He's part of the Intelligentsia Guild which are smart people trying to teach other people, they're one of the two faction on the path of Erudition, the other one being the Genius Society who tends to gatekeep intelligence Black Swan is a Memokeeper, it means that she doesn't have a physical body, she's like a ghost that chooses who can see her, she can control and see memories of people Sparkle is part of the Masked Fools, a faction of people following the path of Elation, meaning they just want fun and chaos Acheron is a sort of Honkai Star Rail version of Raiden Shogun from genshin impact, the both of them have also another version in Honkai Impact 3rd. Acheron is one of the most powerful character of the game gamplay wise but also lore wise, she can cut through reality with her sword. Because of the source of her power, she looses her memory Aventurine is a director of the Strategic Investment Department of the Interastral Peace Corporation (IPC for short) which is a mega company that controls almost all the universe with their universal currency. The Directors of the Strategic Investment Department 10 people called the Ten Stonehearts and each of them have a stone that gives them powers and they're named after those. Aventurine have an aventurine stone, you should know one of his colleagues, Topaz, and the next trailer that should drop is another one called Jade. But unrelated to his stone he has an unnatural luck that makes him always win and he became a gambler. Robin is indeed a popstar famous across the universe, she's an Halovian, meaning that she has angel wings and a halo above her head. And in combat, she uses her song to give great buffs to your team. She's honestly one of my favorite characters. Boothill is a cyborg cowboy part of the faction of the Galaxy Rangers of the path of the Hunt which are lonely people hunting criminals while also not always being really legal themselves, Boothill for example has a bounty on his head by the IPC. Firefly is a sweet girl who was bio ingeniered by a planet's scientists along with thousands of clones to be pilots of weaponized mech armors in a battle against one of the universe dangerous faction of the Swarm, a type of insects monsters that keeps multiplying endlessly. After the war ended Firefly was the sole survivor and was taken in by the Stellaron hunters (Kafka, Silver Wolf and Blade). You will surely watch it in the near future but there's a animated short of her story that dropped a few days ago

I'll just say this. When it comes to the tone of what Honkai characters give off compared to Genshin characters, especially when you do meet them in game. They could not be any more different. Little fun fact about Acheron. If you two were actual players of Hoyoverse games, you would immediately recognize Acheron from what she is based on. Because her design is very similar to Raiden Mei (Honkai Impact 3rd) & Raiden Shogun (Genshin Impact). They're pretty much the same person but in different universes. So Alternate Universe type of stuff. Raiden Mei in particular has been one of the staple main characters in the early years of Hoyoverse games. She's not in the more recent games they've made, but Hoyoverse has always made sure that fan favorite characters throughout their entire games, make it to their modern games in some way.

I will also note that the Japanese and Chinese VAs for Acheron, Raiden Mei, and Raiden Shogun are all the same VAs. It's only the English version where they're different.

This set of trailers were amazing. It also helps that all of them, minus Ratio, have had major impact in the story which you don't always see in Gacha games. The 2.1 patch ended up being all about Aventurine and his really tragic backstory (which was hinted at in the end of his trailer), Acheron ended up being a major player in figuring out what was happening (while being a version of a legacy character from HI3) while Firefly was the emotional heart of the entire arc of the story (for better or worse). Even the ones that weren't a primary focus ended up playing a part in the end. Robin being the connection to the main faction of the planet (and having a spine of steal), Black Swan being a messenger for everyone (and the catalyst for the next major arc) and Boothill became the 6th ranger and coming in clutch durning the final battle. Hell even Sparkle, who was the least active in the story from our PoV, ended up coming back in a big way this patch and was carefully pointing people towards answers the whole game (while being a massive troll). Hoyo ended up making a really memorable cast for the Penacony arc of the story and I'm glad they made the trailers to match that. It makes you wonder what they're going to do next.

Aventurine is such a good pick! He's awesome both in lore (very complicate) and gameplay wise, his EN voice is my favorite too. He also synergized really well with Robin, in fact, Dr. Ratio-Aventurine-Robin-Topaz is one of the top premium teams in HSR meta (endless Follow-up attacks are GOATED).

Firefly is indeed pivotal to the story, and the same could be said of Black Swan, Acheron & Aventurine. They all drive the story forward in vastly different ways. Robin played a crucial role at the end and has an iron will. Of course, all characters have their roles to play but those first four were the most prominent. Black Swan IS an interesting character and she's been a great ally. Despite that, we still don't know her true intentions...that's what it feels like to me, at least. Even though this leg of the journey is over, if I understood correctly, Black Swan will be joining us on our next destination. She's exactly as her trailer portrays, full of mystery. If you guys ever get up to watching the HSR story, I'll definitely watch it. Please react to the other Sparkle, Acheron & Firefly videos!

My picks out of these would have been Robin, Firefly and Sparkle! Not only because of their skills (i acutally dont posess Sparkle in the Game) but because of their personality and lore! Sparkle: She can copy the appearance of other people and used it a lot to confuse others. You never really know whats shes up to and she makes it seem like she does everything for fun. Robin: A Singer known to the whole cosmos, who yet risks her life going to the Frontline to save as many people as possible. Firefly: She was part of artifically created Army made of Battle Armors like herself. She has an great illness and yet has a very bright and cute personality. ❤

Fireflies facei s cracked due to somethign called entropy lose syndrome, fun fact her voice actor has a similar diseases irl. She was born to be a weapon but defies that fate. In a separate video, the war they were born to fight ends and shes the sole survivor (presumably) and instead of just dying she joined Kafka, Silver Wold and Blade. Also would love if you guys watched the myriad celestraial trailer too! Its dif art styles and give you a good background on some of the characters, esp Sparkles since u can tell why shes a bit crazy

For sparkles they got that character from a anime called date a live. Where she uses her future and past self to protect each other if they ever died in the present. Honestly speaking, Acheron is by far the most powerful character we have met so far, that being said she tends to hold back alot but if for any reason she goes all out I personally think that besides the aeons (gods) none of our known characters can in any way shape or form stand toe to toe with her. Only exception where it would be more interesting are other emanators but if compared with who we have already Jing Yuan he definetly gets wiped clean.

Welt Yang is the only one who, at least at full power, could challenge Acheron, since he apparently has his Herrscher Core and _Star of Eden_ , and while Acheron recognized _Star of Eden_, she completely missed that he should feel like a Kamigami to her -- specifically Truth. In the past, Welt used the Core of Reason to generate armies worth of military hardware, with which he challenged Sirin, the Herrscher of the Void, and Kevin, the Strongest Warrior of the Previous Era. And since Bronya strengthened the Core before returning it to Welt, he can probably do much more with it than before -- which also included regenerating his own body, a feat which gives me hope he could just cure Firefly.

Hrm. Pitting your two teams against one another, it depends on who goes first. Sparkle has a unit advancement and crit damage increase, Firefly giggles when you are weak to fire, Black Swan will throw alot of damage of time effects on people. Aventurine, however, is one of, if not the BEST shielding unit in the game, and Boothill does silly amounta of damage.

The story of Star Rail is a series of adventures rather than one straightforward story. There are some great boss fights and cut scenes, but you may need to find a lore channel to get the story. I recommend Minsleif, she has good lore recaps

Fun facts (some spoilers): Dr L+ Ratio is a genius that has made many scientific breakthroughs but still defines himself as an educator and medical doctor. It's probably the only reason he hasn't been chosen by the god of knowledge. Black Swan is literally a meme. She has no constant physical form and exists as idea or memory. Sparkle might be insane but she knows more about what's going on than pretty much anyone, she's just interested in pranking people into doing what they need to because its more fun. Acheron generally fights with her sword sheathed, presumably on account of the massive collateral damage if she didn't. Aventurine does actually always win every bet, its canon and he's done with it. Robin isn't just a celebrity, she is a religious figure with the power to spread harmony. She tours warzones, sometimes managing to end hostilities. Boothill is not the happy go lucky guy he seems, its all just to cover the tragedy and loss. Firefly was bioengineered by her empire Glamoth to fight the swarm (the big bugs in Ruan Mei trailer). They won a pyrrhic victory, which is still better than literally anyone else in the universe.

The character demos in Honkai Star Rail are notably impressive, especially compared to Genshin's. There's a noticeable enhancement in dialogue, with fewer clichés and better word choices.
