The rightful king is actually the descendant of a Sith Lord. Onderon was conquered by the Sith Lord Freedon Nadd thousands of years before the Prequel era. His descendants ruled Onderon as a Sith World for centuries until one princess joined a rebel group, overthrowing her parents and moving all Sith artifacts to their moon. Her line continued up to the Clone Wars.

Even as a droid, Kalani (that droid with Dooku) is one of my fav characters. I bet you will ADORE his voice, it's one of the reasons people love him! Also, note he has a NAME. That isn't very common for droids.

And part 2 of Onderon down! This one's a pretty run of the mill, middle of an arc episode which means I don't have a lot to say on it, unfortunately. The only thing of note I would bring up is the droid at 10:18 that Dooku is sending to King Rash. I think Dooku says it in the episode, but just in case I'm remembering wrong, its name is Kalani and it is an ST-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid (AKA super tactical droid) produced by Baktoid Combat Automata, the same company that makes all of the B-series battle droids. They are a successor model to the T-series military strategic analysis and tactics droids (AKA tactical droid) from earlier seasons. The original T-series droids were very inflexible and, as a result of that, could become rather predictable in their tactics, which is a very bad combination if you want to win. This one in particular, Kalani, is one you'll want to remember. He may show up again after this arc. Well, that's all I've got for this episode.
