tbf, death in soul eater was a lot more terrifying back in the day. however, he decided that if he's gonna hang around and teach a bunch a children, he probably shouldn't look like a horrific nightmare creature, so he changed his looks to be more kid-friendly.

My favorite part of the original anime even if its probably during the parts where it delves from the original content because of the time it was created is when Death has Death Scythe or Makas dad speak with the present guy wearing earbuds on his behalf so he can read DSs lips and bro makes an offhand Joke regarding Death whoch makes Death revert his goofy ass voice to that ancient badass voice just to say "mind speaking that one again?" It's a fun way of showing that his niceness and nerdy ass voice is by no means a sign of weakness and he can easily show he means business after all this time by dropping his octaves from bucktooth science nerd to James Earl Jones at the drop of a hat.

1. Its kind of a shame this Death Battle was made while the King in Black storyline was still going. Because if it was God of Symbiotes Venom vs Crona, then it would be a VERY different story (While we don't exactly have a measurement of how powerfull that version of Venom is, considering he was equal to Knull, who's first ever feat we see him pull off is *killing a Celestial* , I'd say that makes them both near cosmic levels of power) 2. Medusa is unironically up there with Cersei (GoT) and Hera (Greek Mythology in general) for worst mothers in fiction.

If your ever curious about it, Soul Eater's anime doesn't follow the original manga's story to it's conclusion, so it's quite tamer in comparison. Always loved that premise of a halloweentown-like world where insanity and hallucinations are a disease that infects souls like wildfire, and the music is amazing too

I love the fact that they added the lyrics from "This is Halloween" into this Death Battle since I only learned about Soul Eater through the animated music video where they used the same song done by Marilyn Manson. Edit: I just went back to watch the AMV again, and the very lyrics Venom said were Crona and Ragnarok's introduction into the song.

I would HIGHLY recommend watching Soul Eater. It's a solid show - the fights are great and the relationships between the characters are interesting. The main characters Maka and Soul are a pair you'll love watching fight alongside each other.

​@minireaperYT to be fair that was still at the ass end of the era where anime either ended on a premature cliffhanger indefinitely until more material came out, or they literally made up their own bullshit from then on to do something. Apparently the original FMA anime only got a good rep pass because the mangaka at least gave some thoughts on what to do with it. Otherwise you have stuff like the 90s Hellsing that basically stopped trying to go off of source right after the Valentine attack. Not to say it didn't make some original content before that but the whole thing became a mess.

How ironic that the ones to save the world from the Demon God (Kishin) are Crona & Ragnarok. By the way, something that the lore here did not cover is that the Kishin is so dangerous and was defeated and sealed by the Death God (Shinigami), because his soul emits a type of passive wavelength frequency that induces madness on EVERYONE ON EARTH. Like the whole world, literally. There are different kinds of madness in the series, and Kishin induces the madness of primordial fear. The kind of fear that is like a primordial instinct of survival. The fear of death. You will grow so paranoid and scared of everyone and everything around you, thinking that they are out to kill you, that you actually kill them first, out of survival instincts. Imagine a whole world consumed by this fear and everyone was killing one another. It is total anarchy and chaos. This is what the Kishin can do JUST BY MERELY EXISTING AND BEING ALIVE, even if he is doing absolutely nothing and is hiding himself out of the same fear on the very Moon itself. That's why the series's priority is to defeat and kill the Kishin. To save the world from such a fate.

I can share some information on Crona. As well some details on Soul Eater. 😉 So with soul eater being a very different type of anime that have a similar style of Naruto but being dealing with Souls, it seems to be crazy to see on thr tv or reading in the manga. So about Crona, they seem to the first Non-Binary character in the show. As in the anime, they use “Masculine” but in the manga, they use “Feminine” So the creator leave the community guessing on what gender they want Crona to be. As it still be a mystery today. Also a little detail on the moon. If you see more blood oozing out of the moon, it symbolizes that the person is going to die soon or quickly by how much thr moon ooz blood out of its mouth. 😰 So I hope you two watch Soul Eater as it’s a good anime to watch but it’s short with only one season. But it be entertaining to watch. 😉

Non-binary characters weren't as common in media at the time and they didn't want to use 'it' when referring to them.
