Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers, I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down The Boys Season 4 Finale.

Episode 8 is now here and it sets up a lot of things for Season 5. We now know that that will be the last season of the show, however there's lots of other things going on. We have Gen V Season 2 and also the Boys Mexico and lots of things falling into place. Plus there's lots of unanswered questions and things that get left in the air. Whether it's where A-train or Edgar are, Ashley transformation, Samirs escape, Daphne not being in the show or what happened to the Guardians of Godolkin, there's a lot to talk about.
So come with me as we break down the episode and talk about all the easter eggs in it. We'll also be going over what happens in the comics and there's lots of things that we're talking in the future.

Now the episode is titled assassination run and it centres around saving Dakota Bob being saved by the Boys. However due to comments he makes about Victoria, the country gets thrown into chaos. Thus martial laws put into effect with the supes now getting unrivalled power.
Democracy is dead and Homelander is now in control.

@@immortal5812 No its not. Nueman withstood Homelanders lasers, withstood acid, bullets, etc. Yet was ripped apart like a ragdoll from Butchers tentacles. He always had the tentacles from the temp V and they were already super powered from the temp v, and then Butcher injected even more V making them impervious and even more powerful. Season 5, they’re clearly gonna fight again, and Homelander is gonna try and fail to destroy the tentacles to his surprise and fear, because Butcher albeit with different abilities will finally be able to go toe to toe on his own against Homelander.

It was a blending of Mystique as a shapeshifter and Professor X with his ability to read minds. The two abilities perfectly accompany each other. Aside from the slightest of differences in demeanor, virtually indistinguishable from the actual person. The only weaknesses were that she needed to "replenish" herself, meaning she would need constant access to the host body to maintain the facade, and at least seemingly only able to take female forms. But still, she seemed quite durable as well. Crazy set of abilities to be simply choked out and overpowered by a depowered Starlight. Kind of a lame way to go out in the end.

I think Ashlee’s power might be a Medusa type of power, dealing with her hair not her head. I reason this because in the previous seasons Ashlee’s hair was a central point to her stress and feeling of powerlessness so, 1. Medusa’s Story revolved around sexual violence and powerlessness in the mythology, which was a side story for Ashlee for the last 2 seasons 2. In Medusa’s most vulnerable moment, after Poseidon assaulted her, she ran to Athena for protection but was cursed with power. And as such, in Ashlee’s most vulnerable moment, she runs to V (Athena) in order to gain power to protect herself, but instead of blessed with glorious powers of protection, she is cursed with grotesque powers. Ultimately the two share the same fate, cursed with powers in their hair (and eyes maybe) so no man can ever make her feel vulnerable or threaten her again.

The thing with all the supes is that they are not really a private army of HL. They do work for him now since he is Vought and the government at the same time and he let their leash loose but I doubt most of them are actually loyal to him. The medicine that Firecracker is taking is making her heart larger and she's going in to heart failure. That causes coughing when the heart can't adequately pump the blood it backs up in to the lungs. Deep Cut

cardiomegaly alone doesn't cause coughing. Its likely a made up side effect of the drug with little to do with the heart. Instead you would get shortness of breath, chest discomfort, probably pain and dizziness. More closely looking like if you stood up too fast.

Basically her power is being able to predict the future. In a less "magic" way. Showrunner. Hehe subtle.

Mallory basically gave Ryan a three-way ultimatum: (1) become their weapon and murder his father, (2) stay trapped in the bunker forever, or (3) fight his way out. There's a solid argument that he was acting in self-defense. To provide a bit more context: Out of nowhere, Mallory tells Ryan that his father is a murderer and a rapist. Naturally, Ryan gets upset and wants to leave. However, Mallory tells him that * surprise * the bunker is designed to hold him prisoner if he refuses to cooperate with their plan. Then, when he tries to leave peacefully, she threatens to kill him AND Butcher. SHE was the adult, and SHE escalated the situation. Plus, I don't think he was remorseless ... more like in shock.

The only issue is why couldn't Kimiko over power that young guy restraining her (I didn't see Gen V), surely she's strong enough to over power that guy or at least break her arms to get to him. Annie was locked in a dungeon for 10 days straight and forced to hear her doppelgänger describe in detail how they were ruining her life. That doppelgänger also has access to her memories and thus know exactly what to say to get under her skin She eventually escapes by ripping her hands out of her cuffs, nearly de-gloving her hands in the process. And then has to fight and kill a copy of herself without using her powers to do so Annie has been through quite a lot herself. So her anger at Hughie in understandable as she is traumatized Also she gets over her beef with Hughie almost instantly. It’s not like the season ends with them being broken up. Her being genuinely mad at him only last for like a few minutes on screen. MAYBE a few hours in universe
