Joe Elliott is incredibly intelligent and articulate. I love hearing him talk, he's very honest and has a great sense of humor. Honestly, he's one of the most thoughtful and well-spoken rock stars out there.

I have always admired Def Leppard for them sticking with Rick after his accident. If there's any band out there who's had more than their share of problems it's DL. Rick losing his arm, Steve dying, Sav and his Bells Palsy and now Vivian and his cancer concerns. And yet the band sticks together. What other band does that? Gotta admire their loyalty.

Yeah his enthusiasm for what he does despite all this time is amazing. And the band is sounding even better now 30 odd years on. That's a testimony to how good the band is and how well crafted their songs are. I always thought they never got the recognition they deserved in some way so happy to see them being more appreciated now with the Hall of Frame induction and highly successful US tours.

I could seriously listen to Joe talk all day, Hysteria is one of my favourite albums ever, although i'm not old enough to remember it when it first came out, i remember one of my sister having it on cassette and wearing it out because she listened to it so much! (i'm 32 so was 2 years old when it was released) I've loved it since i was old enough to buy my own CD's- it's timeless! What a lovely man Joe is, so genuine and happy to talk about everything surrounding the album and he has a great sense of humour!

Their songs although rooted in that era are just so good today they're timeless classics and great to listen to. Thanks Def Leppard for so many memories and great songs!

The best 'Def Leppard' interview I've ever seen. One of the best artist interviews even. Joe Elliott just shared so many memories and so much information I've never heard before and also such an engaging speaker and interviewee on this one. The Hysteria album was the first to get me fully interested in hard rock music. I'll never forget the night in maybe 1989 or '90 that I saw 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' on MTV. I was maybe 12 years old. I was home alone and it came on. I clearly remember saying to myself "this must be one of those really big rock bands" because they had put together such an epic concert montage video. I was obsessed after that. Still have my ticket stub from the Adrenalize tour, in October 1992, I believe without digging it out. My interest in them has gone up and down over the years but never disappeared. Long live rock n roll.

Late 1987...I was 10 years old and kinda knew who Def Leppard was because I loved MTV and “rock radio” was always playing in my family. I remember seeing them quite a bit on MTV that year because Hysteria had recently dropped and they were cranking out the videos. I was really into bands like Bon Jovi and Aerosmith at the time. Fast forward to the Summer of 1988. School had just got out for vacation and I’d arrived at my father’s house where I spent the majority of my school vacations. My friend Bob and I were catching up and talking about music and he said, “A song I really love right now is ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me.’ I responded with something like “What’s that one?” And I’ll never forget his response, he pumped his fist in the air and said, “You know, Pour Some Sugar On Me,” as he sang the chorus. A few days later I saw the video on MTV and was instantly hooked. The amazingly fun looking and now iconic video showcasing a band in their prime cranking out their signature song and future rock classic. The song was just taking off and was definitely becoming the summer song of ‘88. I was firmly on board with Def Leppard from that point on and devoured all their older stuff, starting with Pyromania. It was an amazing time to be a rock fan and for the last few years of the 1980’s I’d say Def Leppard (along with Guns ‘n Roses & Bon Jovi) was the biggest band in the world.

I think it's a better song than "Hysteria." It has always bugged me that "Love and Affection" wasn't a single. I would have chosen that over "Rocket" or "Armageddon It" in a minute. "Don't Shoot Shotgun" is also an overlooked gem. Pretty-much every song on that album could have been a hit.

Joe’s right: here in America throughout the 80s and 90s we had so many artists go to great heights selling big numbers getting those big hits on the Billboard hot 100 chart. In the 80s and we had artists like Whitney Houston, Madonna, George Michael, Prince, Bon Jovi, Phil collins, Bruce Springsteen the beastie boys, billy Joel reach 10x platinum status 💎 . We had movie soundtracks like the dirty dancing soundtrack Also go diamond. And we also had a ton of artist that might not have gone diamond but reach multi platinum status. And then we had hit after hit after hit after hit on the radio in the 80s over here. The 80s was such a fun musical decade here in America. It seem like every single recording artist, signed to a label had a hit over here even British artists.
