THe shop scene was filmed on victoria rod Rydalmere. none of hte show was filmed anywhere near Mt druitt. The house is in Villawood. I grew up in that area it was never as bad as this show shows though. I think Frankie grew up not far from there as well as he knows the cnaals, we used to get around using the canals. First time seeing this channel, so I haven't seen your reaction to S1 E1 (I'll look for it though). I live in a more quiet area, in a whole different state, and sadly the neighbourhood is similar (I grew up here, had to move back a few years ago), waking up to the sound of someone next door swearing their house down cos someone is a (insert nice choice of words here) at 4:00AM is still fairly common. About two weeks ago, it started at like 4 in the morning, over a stolen bicycle, we went to go get food and other shopping later that evening, got back at about 8PM and there were still abuses and accusations being thrown around about a bike. You're right, it's a wonder they don't lose their voice. Also with the thing of never accepting help from the cops, that kinda depends on the area.

This was on SBS, from memory. Free to air TV anyway. They showed a lot of controversial TV shows around the turn of the century. This one was satirical but there were other ones that more documentary style and were seen to be taking advantage of the subjects of the show. It was also said that the subjects of the documentary show (I wish I could remember what it was called) were given misleading information and were humiliated on TV. This show, however, was always intended to be a caricature and not to be taken too seriously. But SBS in particular went there around this time and didn’t shy away.

Auburn Macca's is where all the young hooligans with pimped out cars would meet up and we would go drag racing (illegally) in Carter Street Lidcombe not far from there. Hahah. I see now that Maccas must have sold off their carpark (probably to get rid of the hooligans) and sold it to Krispy Kreme, as McDonalds once had that whole corner, now they only have part of it.
