I think, this was very clear, if springs are in parallel, total extension is half of extension of 1, if they were in series,it would be twice. so now consider the system as 1 spring (extension 3cm) and find energy. but this energy is stored by the two springs making up the system so again I divide the energy by 2 since its shared by the 2 springs making the system

the total area between loading graph and x axis, is work done on loading, total area between unloading graph and the X axis is the work which is recovered when load is removed, so the difference between the 2 areas is the shaded part and its the energy which is not recovered so its wasted as heat.

Sir can you make videos of yearly solutions of p2 as well. P2 is on 17 may but i have trouble in solving p2 sometimes, it would truly boost my confidence.
