LIZARD_1582 Adrenaline dropped ‘95, when I was in kindergarten. They have been performing live since ‘88. Deftones was the precursor to “nu metal.” I’ve been a fan since ‘05, when I was a teenager. Nothing weird about liking music regardless of age. Deftones was slightly before my time. “Older brother music,” though I never had an older brother and still loved the band.

Biggest regret of my life... I saw Chino outside a venue when he played a Team Sleep show and I was too nervous to talk to him. I've idolized Chino since the Adrenaline days and the one chance I got to talk to him and I blew it. That was the only time I've ever been star-struck. He is such a cool dude too, I'm not sure why I was so nervous.

I can see both sides. They definitely are well known throughout the rock/metal community, but in terms of commercial success they fall short compared to other bands during the era like Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, etc which is a shame because they're probably the best and most unique one to come out of that time

I remember the day when White Pony came out and all my friends and myself and others at the music store picking it up. Deftones was always mentioned within the same group when talking about all those bands. I still have my deftones tshirt from a concert I went to in 1999
