I just still don't understand why Cam commuted suicide... He WAS loved but he just didn't know it... Why does the director of Degrassi have people die constantly? It was JT, Cam, and now Adam? It's just too depressing for teenagers to handle. (R.I.P JT Yorke, Campbell Saunders, and Adam Torres)

They always knew Cam was going to commit suicide. It was just a matter of when. All the signs were there, and what seems like obvious reasons to live to someone mentally healthy aren’t obvious to those struggling with depression and suicidal ideation. He didn’t need a “reason” to be sad. His depression was chemical, not situational.

They do it because suicide is something that needs to be talked about. Staying quiet can truly end a life, and we need to take it more seriously. They did it to represent teens all over the world like cam or are headed down that path, to point out the warning signs. If it was a character we didn't care about, the message in it would have been missed. Sometimes people we love and care about end their lives.

They explained it in the show. Cam was already sick and suffering from depression. He was also homesick and really didn’t have anyone to go to or vent to besides Maya. He already showed several signs and on top of that, was already self-harming. It was bound to happen and the writers themselves already confirmed that Cam’s fate was already sealed the minute they brought him on to the show
