Cam literally opened the path for degrassi awareness of self help and making sure events like his never happen again. I would argue that his character was one of the most important if not THE most important character in all of the series. Its a shame it had to happen to him, but he is the reason it hopefully won't ever be happening again. The problem is....why they made Maya attempt it...that confuses me. Because that to me makes it seem like she never cared about him at all.

He even said he wish he go to sleep and never wake up. He was obviously depressed, homesick, all lonely with no one there for him, no friends and been in a lot of pressure. Sometimes when kids feel like that they think of releasing their pain in commit suicide or self destructive way or many other ways because they have no choice. The could be zigs fault partly for saying that to him and trying to come between him and maya but not for making Cam killed himself. Maybe I’m not good enough to be alive even.” And it didn’t help at all that Zig had felt no remorse or even said sorry after Cam’s death. It’s like it had no affect on him at all. Honestly no one is to blame for his suicide. The only one that you could blame is Cam himself. I highly doubt Zig, Dallas or anyone knew about Cam’s mental issues(maybe bar from Alli). He really didn’t get the help he need and to be honest he didn’t seek for help. He thought he could solve his problems by himself when he really couldn’t. Even though the new seasons are good I recommend watching the the older ones cause the characters were great and the storylines were more realistic and were played out longer. If you don't want to watch from season 1 which I would cause the characters are my favorite, then season 8 is a good place to start cause that's when the seniors in this video like Clare and Alli start( even though Clare was introduced earlier on cause she's a characters younger sister)

Zig is such a jerk.. he shud have known better after the incident with Cam.. instead we saw him ruining Miles and Maya relationship a season later... he literally pushed Miles over the edge luckily Miles has Tristan and his family (well, minus his dad).. so yup I also blame Zig Novak and I really couldn't look at him and ZAYA the same way again.. Pisses me off how zig made cam kill himself and then he left her all alone on Degrassi the next class season 3. Zig is dating Esme after all maya did for zig. I know cam would have never cheated on maya and on Degrassi next class season 2 zig cheated on maya.
