I agree. I got my Degrassi start with a very young Emma and Manny, but even though I watched them grow up for years, I was still too young to have their plots resonate with me personally. All that changed when Clare and Alli's group became the new focal point of the series. I connected with all of the characters so much more now that I was a teenager alongside them. The Boiling Point (Season 10) I think is hands down the *best* written season arc in both Eli and Clare's budding romance, and the ongoing rivalry between Eli and Fitz. A lot of Degrassi villains have come and gone, but Fitz always remains the most despicable in my mind (yes, Rick shot Jimmy, but it was out of a motive, not just pure evil). There are also some of the best single episode A-plots I've ever seen in the series, most notably Adam's "My Body Is A Cage." Truly devastating stuff. I very much miss the trio of Eli, Adam, and Clare (The Misfits, as the fandom referred to them). Not to mention, this was the first time in Degrassi history where we got a new episode every night Monday - Thursday for the ENTIRE summer. It truly felt big in scale, and that showdown where Eli was nearly stabbed to death and the school was put on lockdown was so tense. And to think this promo hinted at all that and more.

That is why the show dramatically changed in many different ways such as the title rebrand and it's explosion in American popularity.
