Does dehancer work on the free davinci resolve, and not the studio version?
@DanKhoueiry3 жыл бұрын
Hey. Really don’t know. You can download Dehancer trial version and try it.

the highlight roll off on this camera is abysmal - what was it?

13 stops of dynamic range isnt abysmal.
@impatrickt2 жыл бұрын
@@flipnap2112 only if you stick to the native ISO’s and even then it’s only about 11 usable. it goes down 2 stops in the highlights if you’re at ISO 100 for example - regardless you can see in this video how harsh it is if you don’t nail it.
@flipnap21122 жыл бұрын
@@impatrickt never had any issues when I owned it. could be in the color grading or compression path to KZbin. its a 1200 dollar camera so I wouldn't expect Arri quality but relatively speaking its generally a solid piece of kit.

Often when I see these plugins and "How to make footage cinematic" videos on youtube they just look like desaturated footage with a soft blur over the top with a hint of Glow effect and then of course GRAIN! Yea ok maybe a little more tinkering than that but essentially that's the basic ingredients. It may be 'one' look you might have seen in some movie or documentary but it's certainly not what makes something 'CINEMATIC'. It isn't even the norm. Just as 'SHALLOW DEPTH OF FIELD' is not the defining factor of what makes something cinematic. In fact, I would go as far as to say the DOF isn't even a factor. In true cinema and I refer to most classic movies of the last 50 years, DOF is an effect rarely used. It has a purpose and is a tool used to highlight a subject in a specific instance. Blur Glow and grain are characteristics of some film stocks but those anomalies are not what make something cinematic. It is everything from the movement of the camera, framing of the subject and the performance of the actor in front of the camera and everything else in between that makes something cinematic. A film called 'COMPUTER CHESS 2013' shot on videotape springs to mind. You can see it's videotape because the entire movie was shot on the SONY AVC 3260 video-cam. And it's still cinematic because the performances are authentic the camera movement is appropriate and the lighting is appropriate. You want cinematic you have to make all the elements work together and work well. Then it just will.
