Donny - great video. Love the channel. Your riding has really improved, looks like you're suspension is really dialed in. I remember finding your channel like 2 years ago while searching for tips on first HS race and thinking, "this guy is just like me". I am 47 and just started racing hare scrambles last year. @@DirtBikingwithDonnie first race of the year in our area is March 13th. Then first race of my series is later in March. After than, Lord willing, every other weekend will be racing through the summer. I still have so much to learn and need a lot more seat time.

Congratulations on your win! You got the bike starting good now? What would you say has made noticeable difference in starting (battery, valve lash adjustment,,,,) I have a 2021 250fx and my son has a 2020 250fx. Keep up the good videos. Thanks.

Thanks! Yes, I have it starting pretty reliably now. It’s a combination of many changes I’ve made I think. AG-801 battery, Keefer maps, Hinson clutch (the stock clutch drags), and getting the engine temp just right before the race start.

I’ve been using 1st for starts. Schoolboy class is (age 12-15): 85cc-250F.
