I remember reading about Pat Riley (if I'm not mistaken) saying, "The very least that a coach can expect from his players is the same level of passion he has". In this, he and Coach Prime are of one and same mindset.

@@Dre2Dee2 does it matter when they call 17 penalties in one gm on one team! Thats your geniuses..I saw in this recap holding vs stanford that wasnt called..but Dion wud never even think to mention it...because thats the known variable so thats what he means abt do you believe. So thats their challenge that no team has. They may need to tone down there hype on TD's, plays, etc...because refs tolorate celebration but dont like them when they think its for showmanship. The gm is more mental on a larger landscspe than most don't recognize.

@@shiny460There is a difference in the role of a good head coach and the role of the other coaches on his staff. Deion does most of his coaching in practice! He trusts his specialist coaches to do their job during the game and they do. Again, no coach can give a player want to and heart. Thevis what champions are made of. You can't fakevit . Time will tell what you are made of! Champions don't quit no matter what. This is the reason Colorado lost the game and all their games. Coach Prime knows the type of players he has. He just thought he could do the impossible and transform the defensive players into better players but they don't want to be better! It was not a coaching problem. It was a heart, passion, and lack of resolve problem on the part of the defensive players and not the coaches. The solution to the problem is for the Buffaloes to get high intensity better defensive players. The coaching staff has gotten out of these present defensive players all they are going to get out of them, period. All in all Coach Prime , the coaching staff, the offensive players, one to four defensive players, special teams, the university, and fans are doing an excellent job! It takes time to build a championship team and Colorado University has done all that is needed to build the foundation to produce a consistent championship team. God will give them the players they need next year and beyond!

After a Colorado win and the media have gone full orgasm mode, Sanders talks about how he has developed the players. After a Colorado loss, he talks about the players not doing their jobs on the field. Oh wow how he has turned a losing team around so quickly..Let's be realistic, he took all his best players from Jackson St. and combined them with the best players from the Colorado team. I’m in complete shock right now! I’m going to say this.. As much as I love Shaduer Sanders as a quarterback, he has to work harder on his overall leadership skills as the quarterback. It’s going to be on him to galvanize this team to win games going forward. Because he’s a privileged kid and Deion’s son, he might be a bit self absorbed and may not have the character and wisdom yet to understand the jealousy that can sometimes come from his own teammates. He has to find a way to make his offensive line feel better about themselves and start getting rid of the football faster when the play is dead. Overall, There is a lack of cohesion in this team that is apparent. The intangibles that are missing from this football team is a camaraderie and unity. I believe Deion Sanders has his favorites which obviously includes his own sons and a few others. From a far, I believe that there are some players who are disgruntled with Coach Prime and the things that are happening in practice are probably festering behind the scenes. It’s the only way to make sense of how a team blows a 29 point lead at home against a supposedly inferior opponent. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Buffaloes rebound from this devastating defeat. I’m team Prime all day long but I understand human nature and the psychology of life and sports. There are some problems internally that need fixing in Colorado before the season ends in disaster. There’s a lot of talent on this roster but in watching from a far, they are not playing as a team yet!

How can you be a fan of a lifelong blowhard egomaniac like deion?! His team were just like him, taunting jerks, in the first half! And as for his son, he chokes on wide open throws and can throw into a lot of risky super tight coverages that could easily turn into interceptions. His accuracy is definitely inconsistent. I'm glad the show off team, and coach, lost. It's disrespectful to the other team and the sport. No one should admire or condone that behavior and ego attitude. Bringing class back to the game would be wonderful, if not a miracle. Fortunately, some teams still act that way.

Pull together? The defense is as bad as last year’s. The O-line is about as good as last year’s. The only difference is a few skilled players. They are WAY undersized. This is not something a coach can just pull together and motivate. There are serious deficiencies. The interior (both side of the bal) I are flat out small and bad. And there is NO depth. 100% blame for this loss is on Deion. No one doubts Travis Hunter is an exceptional defensive back. No one denies Travis Hunter is an above average wide receiver. But. But. But, having Travis Hunter consistently play both defense and offense, without appropriate rest degrades his defensive and offensive prowess. Watch him get burned repeatedly on defense. Watch him not have the energy to get open or run without sufficient speed and finesse after the catch on offense. Hunter is half the player his talents suggests in the second and fourth quarters. What does Travis Hunter's playing consistently on both sides of the ball prove? Nothing. There is no benefit to his teammates.

His answer about taking the ball first in OT is a good sign that he has a lot to learn as a coach. Sheer showmanship and bravado don't supersede solid strategy. Teams that win the toss go on defense for a reason. And that's so they know exactly what they need to win in the first OT. "We go first because we have a good quarterback and we like being on offense" are the words of a coach who doesn't yet appreciate the importance of strategy at this level of football. OK fine, you have a good quarterback. Go on defense first and find out what you need to win and then let your good quarterback go out and close it out.

@reactingtoacting - “Sheer showmanship and bravado don't supersede solid strategy.” Good point. HOWEVER, overtime strategy varies depending upon a team’s strength. If you win the coin toss in OT and have an extremely strong offense, you always want to go on offense first because your team has a higher probability of scoring than it does of making a defensive stop. Same theory in reverse for a really strong defense.

Sound bites and winning in the press conference is great for social media and tv. Teams are a reflection of their leadership and practice habits. This group has some talented players but just not enough at the LOS, specifically on defense. They lack discipline and focus - 17 penalties is all on coaching, which means these habits are displayed in practice and not corrected. Prime’s year 1 strategy has been a huge success - Improve the brand position of the program with increased awareness and followers. He is the best Chief Brand Officer in the country but he needs better players to be the best football coach. 4-8 is a great season for year 1. He will continue to bring huge dollars to the city/program and deliver a bowl game next year and the year after then take his show on the road to another city once his kids leave and will run the same plays all over again - He’s a brand transformation expert operating as a football coach. Nothing wrong with that.

I was shocked to wake up to a colorado defeat. I watched the first half and then had to go to work. What a surprise....one thing though, I noticed more times that in other games when a bad play happened it appeared as though the colorado players were blaming each other for mistakes made. I played football from the age of 8 years old through high school and most every coach I had always told us never blame each other...suck it up and try to do better. Blaming premotes dis harmony, and when that happens team play suffers...just an observation.

Tough loss for the Buffs hopefully they bounce back would love to see them in a bowl game, hopefully they can make it. Hats off to Stanford Cardinal down 29-0 at the half most teams would give up but they didn't they fought back and won.

Don't worry they will be in a bowl game and even if they don't win enough games to be bowl eligible, college football and the media will have them matched against a bad team they can beat in a top bowl game. This will be done so the media can finish their orgasms of America's coach

Kudos to Deion Sanders for being the consummate professional during this interview and not losing his cool after his team surrendered a 29-0 lead only to lose this game. I would have been LIVID.

Deion we need your energy, we cannot celebrate without you. Its impossible to support you and you cut us off from your spirit. Give us something to feed off. Yall came out the door empty. Let the guys enjoy their wins, its not fair for players to be sad when they're suppose to be themselves in the news and on every social media platforms. They need that for motivation and we need you to get us ready for each game. 👏🏾💪🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😇
