Talk talk talk, you need to raise these kids right from day 1. Telling a group full of athletes that they are Jackson states best? At what? A game that will likely see most of these kids not go on to play professionally and then they’ll be the best at what? The kid that studied and worked hard and didn’t have that natural born ability will be most of their bosses. Focusing on athletics at universities is a downfall in the American education systen
@Joshua-sw1dq
@Joshua-sw1dq Жыл бұрын
@@SB-hz2tt its only a downfall if you let it be all that you focus on. See growing up in athletics can teach you a lot about life but from an outside perspective all you see is a sport being played and kids and youn men giving their time to something you think will inevitably be their down fall. Let's look at it from a different angle though. Sports will teach young men and women about discipline, and give them structure where some may be lacking in those areas. Those 2 examples alone play an enormous roll in raising the youth. A proper program with adequate coaches/ mentors will teach kids how to work as a team and not see yourself as an individual when its obvious you can't do it alone, a good coach will teach you that no matter how skilled you are, its hard work that is going to take you to higher places and that nobody is bigger than the cause, whatever that cause may be. Playing sports can lead to life long friendships, surrounded by people that have similar goals in life and the desire to be better will only result in a more successful future. These friends and teammates should and will hold you accountable for what you say and do, and accountability is just as important as discipline and structure. You are taught to be punctual and prepared everyday. At the end of the day, the most important in my opinion, is the work ethic that is engrained into you. You have to have a work ethic to get by in this world and nothing teaches you that more than training with your team to achieve a goal. Athletics shouldn't be viewed as a one sided, get rich or bust investment. A lot of life lessons are earned through these kids dedication. Even if most kids don't go on to play sports at a college or professional level, the lessons that are learned are beneficial to many.
