This level of deionization would not suit a car wash. Its overkill and very expensive to operate in high volumes. Reverse osmosis would be much more effective.

2:00 Most people think that water is a very good electrical conductor, but in fact it isn't a very good one. It's the particles like minerals, debri etc... in the water, that lowers down the electrical resistance. This is also one of the reasons that it's adviseable, to use only "demineralised water" to use in acid-lead batteries, to keep the electrical resistance as high as possible, to minimize self-discharge.

Deionized and Reverse Osmosis water (future video) are bad to drink because water being a solvent, robs your body of existing minerals / electrolytes. Minerals always want to move from a high concentration (your body and cells) to a lower concentration (ultra pure water you drink).

@@BetterBiomedChannel , I have seen people who have tasted demineralized water, and it seems to have a very "dry" taste afterwards. Definitely not recommend as sport or energydrink :-) I know Osmosis water from being used at carwashes , because it dries up without leaving stains.

Are you just purifying tap water? I’m trying to develop a hypothetical system that deionizes surface water runoff and I’m trying to figure out if this process is possible?

You would need some heft pre filters or heavy particle filters for surface runoff. Sure it's possible! does this water need to be potable or is it for laboratory type settings?

I have no idea what the input total dissolved solids count is but I can tell you that there is a heavy solids pre filter then 2 stages of Deionizing filter following. The output is measured for purity in ohms. The lower the resistance, the higher the purity (generally speaking).

Zero TDS. For sure. They have a UV light it will destroyed any organics and they will get trap to the last 0.2 micron filters (white ones).
