Your single player livestreams are like crack to me. I really enjoy them, moreso than any other gaming content on KZbin. I've literally watched all of them on your channel over the past three years and a bunch of my favorite old streams and video series I've watched twice. And no gimmicks makes it all the better. I live in China so I'm not really able to catch them live, but I just want to let you know that I'm still watching and any content of this type that you can release will always be deeply and fully appreciated.

this game reminds me of my granddad, and I'm almost 30, I miss him, so happy to see people and a community around this game. Bruce could farm Sid all day, he always played the long game and ruined the modern era with rocket arty, I could never last that long

aye brother, this popped in my recommended, I enjoyed watching the video, just had to crank this bitty up to max volume, its really hard to hear you haha. Other than that, entertaining and awesome to look back into an older civ game. I like the no gimmicks idea too!

Thanks for the feedback, I haven't streamed for a while so the settings on my interface weren't right. I agree about gimmicks! G Lib is kind of bullshit and I like playing without it.

Would be interested to see a vanilla high difficulty continents map where another equally skilled player started on the opposite continent. Wonder how it would affect the ever present tech trading strategy and the course of the game

If you remove the agriculture trait from all civs that have it then replace it with a trait of your choice suede what would a tier list of civs for you look like😊 Could be a good video idea 💪

Does it make sense to whip out workers from newly captured cities to decrease the foreign citizen count, and also get you upkeep-free workers?

yes and no. It's a 10 turn wait. Better to starve typically.

@@suedeciviii7142 I disband outdated or damaged units into the newly captured city to build workers. It works even when the city is resisting!

I sometimes will use anydesk to connect to my desktop from my phone to play civ 3. If anyones looking for a way to play it on their phone. i say anydesk because the steam app doesnt always cooporate... and just easier.

This was my first live stream and it was fun debating economics 😅 How demanding is CivIII on Steam to run? Im thinking of buying it but i only have a midtier laptop. Ps: next stream should be France on Sid if only to prove that Joan is greater than a diety 😂

It should run just fine, I think. Remember the game is over 20 years old. I don't think launching it via Steam would change anything.

@@theophileburtz1624 Yeah, no remasters here. For better or for worse (mostly better), it's the game as it was from the early 2000's. The only issue is that the UI was optimized for 1024x768, and higher modern resolutions make the terrain and tiles smaller, but that can be a good thing too if you like the "big picture" perspective of the map.

As I said during the stream. Its supper hard to hear you. Watching again around 1:13 mark. I had to use headphones in order to be able to hear. Put you microphone volume higher please.

Yeah sorry. This is an issue, because if I have the gain too high it clips, too low it's hard to hear. I use a video editing software for my videos, which makes it easier to apply clean gain. But for streams it's a bit of a tightrope. Absolutely remind me to turn up the gain if the volume is too low while streaming. Multiple times even. Otherwise you'll need headphones unfortunately. It should be fixed towards the end here.

This is an improvement over Civilization 2? I see it´s available on Steam for 1 euro, one dollar give or take 10 cents. Well 1 dollar is less than 1 euro, i recently checked up on it but picky picky. I can sit with Civ 2 for hours upon hours but i find it harder than before to motivate a play of it actually. Some things become apparent over time and i need something fresh to like from the start. Civ 2 gave me gaming worth 1 thousand bucks, give or take.

It is, yeah. It introduced a lot of core important game mechanics, while keeping the general focus of the earlier games in the series.

I mean, if the game can't be won, you can't really expect someone to play for 540 turns, no? At some point you have to call it quits, waiting for the AI to take all your cities is pretty dumb. But relative to most people I am 100% a quitter hahah.
