If you think about it, Denzel re-visiting the timeline (his fingerprints and bloody towel in her house) and the fact that there aren't two Denzels existing the first time, means that he had been on the ferry but FAILED to stop the explosion the first time and died during the failure. We're watching his second attempt to stop the explosion.
@ozymandias1758Ай бұрын
He KNEW he had failed, he saw all the his own DNA at the house, the clues he left behind for himself, and yet the ferry blew anyway. At some point it must've dawned on him, he knew he was going to die trying, but he knew ONE of the iterations of himself would stop the explosion and save Claire. He was a brilliant investigator, had a strong team backing him, and the powerful time scope/time machine device. Such an excellent and compelling film. Thanks TBR for reacting to this!❤🎉

One thing about Denzel, is that the man is always 100% there. An equally inventive time travel-esque movie about preventing an atrocity is "Source Code". The ultimate timeline twister is "Primer", which has discussion boards and websites devoted to it. Then there is "The Jacket", a truly haunting and ultimately beautiful story about the chance for a "do-over." A Spanish goody is "Timecrimes" where an ordinary guy stumbles into the middle of a time travel experiment and something goes awry. Each attempt to correct things gets progressively more convoluted and catastrophic. The action sci-fi "Arc" has a couple waking up in bed during a violent home invasion-over and over again. "Safety Not Guaranteed" is an incredibly charming story about a famous urban legend where someone placed an ad in the Personals looking for a partner to go back in time with.

I've watched this a time or three. Underrated exploration of time travel, but I get why the movie may divide people, as it starts dark and stays there pretty much until the end. I love it though. Source Code has a similar premise, and I enjoyed that one too. Source code is more like memento but has elements of this movie, and a different resolution for the hero. Fun to watch this again though. Have fun, and be well.

The Déjà Vu-Dad Joke at the beginning was awesome. 🤣 I thought it was a cutting mistake or my connection gets lost so the buffering tricked me.

I LOVE this movie. So happy you're watching. The movie Samantha couldn't remember with Val and RDJ is Kiss Kiss Bang Bang! ❤ It's in my top 5 😁
