I can't understand how there's not been a bulk "freezing" recepie chain involving powdered snow and a fan, it feels honestly really intuitive. Also there should be an add-on to add deployer recepies for GT modern components in my opinion. p.s. If you're reading this I'm currently working on one such add-on, wish me luck!

8:24 um, actually, the differential does "gear ratio". to simplify it; what happens when you drive one side, but not the other? it cuts the speed in half. if you drive the other side in the same direction, you're increasing the speed above half. if you drive the other side in the opposite direction, you're reducing it below half. so it isn't just a simple addition or subtraction. the formula is, (a+b)/2. and since b is rotating in the opposite direction, it's negative. so the formula becomes, (256-32)/2=112. that's how fast the large outside cogwheel (the ring gear) is rotating. so when you place the small cogwheel, it's geared up to 224.

The differential is used in cars more often for when you take a turn, it makes the inner wheels spin slower while the outer wheels of the turn maintain or speed up to make the turn

The Differential is *indespensible* because it merges the SU of both sides, without requiring them to spin at the same rpm. That means you can plug your windmills, water wheels, fan engines, steam boilers and such into the same line to merge their SU output.

I don't know if this is something that interest's you or something you might find fun, but there's a mod I'm going to assume you're familiar with called Integrated Dungeons and Structures with a structure called Tinker's Citadel, and it has a lot of... Copper/ Steam age stuff going on inside it. I don't think it's set up to be functional, but there are definitely areas where it *looks* like it's trying to make something seem like it could function. If it peaks your curiosity, I would love to see how you could make the structure in a more functional state (Plus it also has a puzzle in the courtyard to find a 'hidden item')

I feel like the differential is useful for joining two different speed power sources. Say an ultra high stress unit Steam engine, and a low stress, high speed windmill setup.

Sadly, that differential only allows one power source to go through to the large gear. And you could just use gear ratios to connect them without much difficulty anyways.

if you ask google, "revolutions or rotations per minute", it'll say, "revolution is the more precise term when describing how many times an object completes a full circle around its axis in a minute". however, if you ask google, "revolution vs rotation", it'll say, "Rotation: An object's spinning motion around its own axis". and the example it gives is that Earth rotates on its axis to give us day and night, and it revolves around the sun to give us years and seasons. those two answers would seem to disagree with each other. based on the second answer, the first answer is wrong. rotation would better describe what's happening because we're measuring how often something rotates around it's own axis. with that centrifuge thing, the basins could be measured in revolutions per minute, but a spinning cogwheel should be considered rotations per minute. change my mind.
