I think people need to appreciate midoriya a little more, everyone thinks he's just a plain and a crybaby character, but he's such a hero, he showed more heroism that anyone, he might cry, he might be reckless sometimes, but he's amazing, he worked so hard for a quirk that ended up breaking all his bones, and destroiyng his body, but he kept on going and managed to use OFA properly, he's really amazing and I also think his backstory is underrated, I mean, being bullied, harmed, hated for something you don't have control over and that your own mother didn't believe in you at first it's rough, we need to show more love to deku!

Reminds me of when I first started training to fight. I started at 12 when everyone else started at 5 year olds. I had to work harder and just hang on. Eventually I started to get better, I started to be able to block, dodge, counter. I became good enough that hey had me coaching some classes. As All might was the anchor for Deku, My mom was the reason why I could stand up to them. For the ones wondering, it's been 9 years since I started.

To be honest I see everyone saying the lyrics should change to hero because thats what he is, but I feel zero fits better. It doesn't matter if he breaks his bones trying to throw a ball or finds a way to beat the strongest quirks around, he'll always be scrawny weak Deku in his eyes, looking around and seeing how great everyone is. Its the memory of weakness that pushes both Deku and All Might to protect, and it's Deku's lack of strength that helps others. Its Deku's weakness that caused All Might to realise he had to be a proper hero and push himself after fearing his regression into weakness, weakness that ignited todoroki, its Deku's weakness that caused Kota to finally understand why heroes exist, its his weakness that drives so many others. Deku will always be a zero because thats what he wants to be. He wants to be the groundwork for every number that will come after, be a nobody so everyone can be a somebody. Its this blank nothingness that allows him to push One for All beyond what was possible, and be the conduit for pure untainted justice and hope. Deku means useless. And if being useless can shatter mountains and stave off fear. Imagine how useful you can be.

And I mean think of it the heroes are ranked with numbers that go from 1 to how many heroes there are with the lower numbers being the better heroes now if we look at it: zero is lower than one (hope you understand what I mean) but I would have to denie with the part with the nobodie. He wants to be a hero that everyone looks up to and make them feel save around him with just his smile. Also I think he choosed Deku as his hero name to show the world exspecially the kids that nothing is uselles as he the (when he is a) hero number 1 has that name.

I do not agree fully, I think Deku is plenty strong for others, albeit still weak in his own eyes. But this line of thought is very interesting and it made me think about it more deeply as well. A line of thought of mine linked to your comment was, that maybe after having experienced pure weakness, you dont get conceited once you get strong. Perhaps thats why Midoriya is so selfless. I also agree on that it pushen him as he can see his own faults and is focusing on them. And that he lays a foundation due to that, due to selflessly wanting to help and due to wanting to push others into the light. I do believe, like another commentor underneath here, that Deku inspires because he has experienced. Though if we think about it, the anime highlights Dekus weakness but also his growth. He appears to never be enough, while in the end, he almost always is enough for those he wants to save.

Loved this video. I'm saying this now, Izuku Midoriya is one of my favorite characters. He deserves to be called a hero. I think that it's ok for him to cry. He has been bullied for ten years of his life, all because he's quirkless, not to mention that once he gets One For All, he struggles to control it. To be honest, if I was in his place, I would have a mental breakdown too. In my oppinion, Midoriya doesn't think enough for himself, always putting other people's happiness before his own. He is a true hero despite his pain. And although he cries, that's ok. Todoroki said that heros cries when they need to. With Midoriya, he needs to cry. It doesn't make him one bit weak or pathetic. Anyway. This song really goes with Midoriya.

Deku was really sad but then his childhood friend got captured by the sludge villan , even though deku didn't have a quirk, he still ran his best friend to save him him.
