Some people either don't have common sense or can't read. I say this because: 1. I've seen countless posts about Izuku's new hair. Do people not realise his hair looks like this because he had to undergo a head operation, meaning doctors shaved most of his hair on that side? He doesn't look like this because he wants to. 2. People who claim that, after all Izuku did to become a hero and have a quirk, he's suddenly okay with being quirkless. If you're watching the anime, more so reading the manga, you should be aware of the fact that Izuku suppresses his feelings all the time. That's the reason why we even had Dark Hero arc. He doesn't want anyone to worry so he doesn't talk about how he feels. He's obviously coping hard with the fact he lost OFA. 3. And for the last part, the manga is not over yet!! I'm pretty sure we'll see a lot more in the next few chapters.

You're right! I hope Horikoshi explores Izuku's feelings on this in the remaining chapters. I'm not sure the ending can be satisfying if these topics aren't addressed at least to some degree. It would feel a bit empty if Izuku would get over stuff he never even faces - though a bittersweet ending is a possiblity too as long as the narrative acknoledges the fact it is such.

Maybe after everyone has had their chance to shine during the epilogue, there might be a Legend of Korra style ending for Deku right before the final chapters. During his moments in the epilogue, he’ll breakdown after realizing the fact that once again he won’t be able to become a hero once the embers run out and release his emotions. Then, the vestige of Tenko appears before Deku, along with the vestiges of the previous OFA users and the vestiges of the stolen quirks. Tenko will then give Deku the OFA user’s quirks along with all of the stolen quirks along with a new quirk that is a combination of All For One and One For All, allowing Deku to continue to pursue his dream of being a hero.

MHA is a really well written story since it's not always a single narrative or even style. It goes from school scenarios to a war that consumed society as a whole, but it always had that emotion behind the writing that made you feel the words and characters while realizing how much life can bring.

My theory is that OFA has been sort of reset. Hes got embers now that'll grow over time and OFA is now permanently his quirk but he can no longer pass it onto anyone else. deku is obviously repressing a lot of emotions that still need to have to be brought up and acknowledged, especially regarding him losing OFA and his relationship with Bakugou. He’s clearly hiding how important one for all was to him, the power he felt blessed to have, especially since it was from the man he looked up to for the entire manga. And now he lost it. “I’m happy i got to live this dream.” Uh huh.. “I’m not that sad about it.. i gave it on my own volition.” (idk the exact quote) He’s lying through his teeth!! He’s been doing this since Blackwhip awakened. He’s lying about how he feels regarding the current loss of one for all, he lied about the true awakening of blackwhip! We havent been seeing his inner thoughts at all recently.. It would also be interesting to know the result of the whole “Control your heart” thing. Unless Deku losing control of blackwhip when he saw bakugou was the result..? He even states that his mental state is a little messed up from the war, which, obviously is true but let’s be real it’s been messed up since the beginning of the manga. Uraraka and Todoroki still have stuff going on especially with Toga and Touya’s death.. the story isnt completely over yet. Stuff still has to be wrapped up… However, it would be interesting if they left some stuff up to interpretation to leave room for spinoffs. It’s likely!! *I might be wrong about all this, so dont take my word for it!!*

I feel like folks already forgot about All Might's "iron man" suit. Pretty sure one could be made for Deku, and since it isnt being rushed, it could be far more optimalized for long term combat- etc. Midoriya even said before beating AFO, that beating him would take every last ember, yet he still has some, so OFA might not be leaving, but instead reigniting like a phoenix being reborn. The vestiges are gone, and so would the other powers, but the strength would still remain. It would make Midoriya the "One For All" as the new flame takes hold. (I wouldnt be surprised if he changed his hero name to "One For All" to reflect it)

The battle has ended, the fight against a world-ending threat closed. But, this was also that slice of life, and a dream. It feels appropriate both as an aftermath and to round out the genres to come back to the world. What will Deku's dream be now? Will the embers stay with him for the rest of his life? Perhaps Garaki's research can give him one last quirk? I want to know Deku's whole story...it isn't done just yet.

Honestly, I don't mind the direction this manga is taking at all. It's just part of MHA's own charm in my opinion and I hope we get at least a few more chapters that shed light on everyone else's reaction and mental state after all this fighting. One For All isn't regaining its strength, it was destroyed, however Izuku is now like All Might after Toshi gave Izuku One For All, minus the degenerative injury that All Might has. So Izuku has some embers of power left, but they will fade away over time and usage.

If I recall the creator did say he wants Izuku's dad to show up at some point. Deku likely still has the stockpiling quirk as well it just might be that he does not know what actually fuels it which is why he does not feel it.

Aside from Deku potentially being quirkless again, when the hell are we gonna see Deku’s dad? We’re at the end of the story and we have not seen a glimpse of this man at all in the story. Horikoshi said that he was planning on showing him at some point in the story and we still have a few chapters before My Hero truly wraps up so hopefully we’ll get to see him by then.

Honestly i love the little slice of life the story had, because it reminds you that it’s not just a story about superheroes. They are kids too. I would love if Deku eventually gets the power back somehow but that doesn’t seem like a realistic scenario.

One thing people forget is that after the first war arc it was stated that Midoriya's body was stated to have been altered by OFA to hold more of his power, so even if he stays Quirkless his altered body still remains. I think he could still have been given a Quirk by Tenko at the end and there is some delay before he realizes he has it. And he may just have the stockpiling aspect or a weaker variation.

My hero academia resembles Naruto to me in terms of story writing and direction and character focus. Naruto had episodes that served as filler content that focused on some of the side character's as well as main group. I love the action and fight scenes just as much as everyone does those are always the highlights in any shounen series as character development as the story progresses. I would like for MHA to have a sequel series like Shippuden, did for Naruto. Regarding Deku's fate as being quirkless or not, I'd like to believe the embers remaining inside of him will come together or spark again to form a new flame or core inside of him that will either grant him all the quirk's he had or restore him back to how he was before with All might's capabilities with One for All with the additional quirks factored into it as one whole quirk power. Or perhaps, Eri could lend a hand to Deku like she did for Lemillion and restore one for all for him, is another possibility.

One thing I personally think make comics better than most other mediums of story telling is that they don't just end with one story arc or character, they expand into time and space beyond the initial story. My complaint is they can't figure out how to end those characters stories permanently like books do. However with books, they create these amazing worlds and when the story is told, they get abandoned. There are so many tales of Middle-Earth that could be told before and beyond the events of The Hobbit and LOTR. One Author I've seen expand his initial stories world after the events of the saga he first told is Rick Riordan adding more story to after the events of Percy Jackson and branching into other mythologies which were already confirmed to exist if you paid attention to how the Gods described how Mt Olympus was based in the USA despite them being Greek. MHA is already expanding with the Vigilantes tale. I also could see the Author dive further into the events that caused Quirks to appear in the first place that might have a second wave that make more quirkless like Deku gain Quirks.

From what Deku said in the chapter, it sounds like he's fully accepted that his dream has ended. He didn't really sound sad about. He sounded rather "accomplished" for lack of better world, almost like a retired man who's ready to put his career to rest. This might stem from the fact that he did indeed achieve his dream, albeit earlier than he expected. He became the greatest hero to have ever lived. But he's still so _so_ young. It feels wrong that this would be the end of his life's goals. And I really doubt he's just meant to sit on his laurels. So, I wonder what Horikoshi has in store for him. What kind of new goals, hopes, and dreams will he embrace now?

Something I haven't seen mentioned, ember can be rekindled into a roaring fire again. I can see him getting a stripped down version that's just strength/stockpiling. A cooler option would be a blended version of All For One and One for All but stopped of all the traces of their previous weilders. A new quirk that would be solely Deku's, ONE AND ALL. It should have some ability to transfer power between people along with the ability to store power. It would be fitting power for a Shonen hero.

Man, you know what I still wish to see in that hospital of one of the characters. 1. Endeavor: who got burned up real bad and before that lost an arm and got bit in the hip. 2. Mt lady: from what we saw, she got hit by all for ones attack and fell down hard 3. Gang orca: who by the look of him really took a big battle against those Nomu but I’m pretty sure he’ll make a good recovery ❤️‍🩹 but man I can’t imagine how that bowl must’ve look. 4. Edgeshot: who almost made a big sacrifice by turning his strings into stitches for Bakugo’s heart so that way he can stay alive. But man after he did that and suddenly he was still alive. How do you think he’s going to get back to normal I hope we know soon. 5. Mirko: during the battle against shigaraki Really lost not just an arm, but now all parts of her body man is she still going to keep fighting but by robotic limbs or just drop down the Cape, just wondering 6. Hawks: after taking some beating from all for one he ends up becoming of victim of losing a quirk his fierce wing quirk making him quirkless. Can you believe that after all for ones defeat by Bakugo as the quirks were disappearing hawks quirk says, imagine all those other quirks going back to their users;😏 actually I don’t think that works like that. To me through his mouth that was like horokoshi words coming out his mouth; but still man good to know he still alive but now, quirkless and no longer the number 2 hero.

And for endeavor after going through so much pain almost losing his life and losing a arm limb would retire but not because he was seriously hurt on the outside, but also how he was hurt in the inside knowing that all the fear of failure he had to hide from by only spreading anger on the outside has to stop now and it will stop at the time. He decides to retire as a hero, knowing that trying to be the best wasn’t working out for him, knowing how it affected his family, even his first born. (and we don’t even know yet if dabi is going to suddenly survive or really die in the condition is in)

I think I'm just going to ramble a bit and give my opinion. Boku no hero Academia, is in my personal, kind of like the goose that laid a golden egg. In the original story of the goose that laid the golden egg. The farmer, was tricked into buying the goose by a swindler. Made the man believe that the goose can make gold eggs, and reality the swindler had been planting the golden eggs in the Goose's nest. For buying the goose the man was able to keep a few of the golden eggs when he sold for a good profit. But then the goose started laying normal eggs, in the farmer didn't know why until he realized he was swindled. Now what's my point all this? Simple, Horikoshi's writing at the beginning was really good. It was a perfect twist on the heroes genre, but slowly you could tell he was getting burnt out. At least I think so, as a writer myself I can tell when another writer is getting burnt out. He started making more by the numbers plots for my hero a bit later. Now some of that could be blamed on the publisher, a lot of it probably could in all honesty. But, at some point I honestly just gave up on it on reading the story for a while. I still technically haven't finished it but at the same time I kind of have. I haven't read it in depth but I've skimmed through the chapters especially the new ones. And I got to say it's... Not disappointing but you can tell at least again in my opinion that after a while he didn't know what to do with the story besides just giant climactic super battle. And that's honestly not why I liked my hero Academia in the first place. Why I liked my hero is because it wasn't just a big superhero super villain battles. There was more to it it was Heroes and training learning how to be better Heroes. All the while navigating through a villain infested society. As a society filled with corruption at every point from the lowest scum to the highest politician. There were Mysteries surrounding everything, and the answers we got the questions we asked so far have been disappointing. The story went out of its way to put Denki in the Limelight as the best candidate for the UA traitor. But it was belly button boy the whole time? Now I'm not going to say there weren't minor, very, very minor hints for belly button boy. Captain Wonder navel over here, but there was much more evidence saying Denki was the traitor and not him. Now you could make a case for subversion, but it's more of a "I tricked you by using someone you thought was a background character" because how many episodes did Captain Naval get? Like that centered around him, I can only off the top of my head think of one at least for the anime. And that was the one where he was stalking Izuku, there wasn't enough evidence for the so-called twist to be satisfying. It's like watching a Scooby-Doo episode and the person in a ghost costume is some random dude, that we saw in the background throughout the whole episode. But they didn't really f**king do anything! And I've heard some people be like "oh but he stared at the camera constantly!" why would the fact that he stared at the camera matter? It was a wink to the audience, if anything that put him on the level of Deadpool for a fourth wall breaker. It isn't really evidence that he's the traitor. And then there's the answers we haven't gotten to a few questions, who is deku's Dad. Why was deku's pediatrician working for all for one? Did Deku get his original quirk stolen, or was he born quirkless? Now those may be answered in the upcoming chapters but at this point I'm so uninvested I don't even know if I'm going to read them. Because in all honesty, at this point a lot of the fanfiction for my hero Academia. Is better than the actual God damn manga!!! And no I'm not saying that out of bias, or anything like that. I'm saying that because it's true, as unfortunate as that is. And again this is only my opinion on the matter, it doesn't have to be your opinion, you could be pissed off at me for it. I honestly don't care, and I'm not going to apologize for it. I think the issue is, Horikoshi well he is a really good writer. I feel like he likes to mess with the fans a bit. Some of the inconsistencies just feel like he saw all of the fan theories, and said "I think I'm going to do a little trolling" and then changed the plot up a bit in order to f**k with people. Is that what happened I don't f**king know, but it sure as hell feels like it. And that's kind of the difference between Horikoshi's work, and the fan works. Horikoshi's feels like he was listening to the fans and decided to f**k with them, Fans' works feels like they read the source material, and use that information to draw conclusions that made sense. Then Incorporated theories into their work in a way that fit with the original story. Again my opinion, but I feel like it's an opinion that a lot of people have even if they don't say it. But beyond that, I just don't like how the story morphed into this kind of almost Justice League leads Dragon Ball Z kind of escalation. And in all honesty, while I'm not unhappy with how the story basically turned out for the most part. I'm not happy about it, like at all. I love the characters, I love the plot, I love the setting, I liked the mystery, I liked the setup. But I do not like the execution, and I'm not going to apologize for it.

I have to admit, that was the most comprehensive analysis you have done. It was already bad enough that the MHA story creative freedom has become stifled due to the publisher’s editorial meddling during the end of the Liberation War and Final War arcs respectively and trying to keep up with the deadline, but you also point out the signs of the author’s mental fatigue as all that he knows is how to make awesome battles and ideas but makes poor choices in terms of execution. You also point out his love of trolling the fans which would have been fine if he does so moderately and in minute detail but it got out of hand and compounded with his fans’ verbal barrage of harsh words at him exacerbated the situation to the point that subverting what was the norm has become unappealing at the expense of the story’s flow. Finally, your explanation when its comes to fan-fictions is spot on as they are, most of the time, a fan showing their love for the series, others, they like the story but felt cheated that the story’s author didn’t deliver the contents of the story that he promised ,was inadequate for various reasons, or taking too long in the production. So they create fan-fiction versions of the original source material but the good stories that I find are wonderful in terms of execution and making the characters expanded upon while remaining true to their canon counterparts are far few and in-between. To sum it all up, you wrote something that resonates with me and some others who might have felt dissatisfied of the contrivance that Horikoshi did with his work.

As for whether or not deku had his quirk stolen… No. I’m pretty sure author’s intent that was that he was born without one. Also it should be obvious that deku’s doctor was likely doctor Garaki. (Atleast, that’s what I thought, they literally look the same.) Also, while people DO want to know about deku’s father. The fact is he was never relevant to the plot. Much like jotaro’s father. While your other points are fine to a degree, it is not the author’s job to answer every question the audience has. You don’t NEED everything explained. also, kaminari traitor theory doesn’t have that much evidence to begin with, either. And how would you explain it? “Sorry he was actually ACTING stupid the whole time!!” That’s WORSE.

deku's embers are running out and in order to save his quirk he needs to train his body but is too broken to do it, eri says her quirk is strong enough to rewind him but deku decides against it, stating that he would rather put everything back the way it was suppose to be with him as a quirkless hero. eri with tears accepts his answer but slips on plotwist rock and rewinds deku anyway ass pull.

What if Deku actually has an ember of AFO too that lets him take 1 quirk before burning out? His father shows up, and offers his, allowing deku to get fire breath but pumped up in strength? He could continue being a hero even though his arms are hurt, it still gives his father time to fulfill Horikoshi's promise of having an important role, and it lets deku continue being a rival to bakugo as fire vs explosions.
