It's Bakugo's way of giving deku advice. Saying it "pissed" him off is Bakugo's way of saying it had him on the ropes -- which indirectly implies that mixing kicks and punches will make deku faster and unpredictable while giving him more options.

Man... Bakugo’s English *and* Japanese VAs really killed it here. This moment had me crying in the sub, and even after watching all my other sub reactions and making a stone of my heart, hearing it in the dub got the tears flowing all over again. This has to be my favorite episode of MHA, period.

The dub is alright but the sub is just a masterpiece, especially on this episode and the midoriya vs muscular fight where the sub clearly shines in comparison to the dub. Like i can't unhear how bad this is compared to the teardropping sub

@@medimed4772 idk about that I cried when I heard deku's dub voice and it was amazing that I I couldn't feel in the sub. I doubt the sub is bad but the dub is so good that at this point you can start with either one and grow into it. I am sure if I watched more then 1 episode in sub I love it but the opposite seems to be true

This episode definitely show the different side to Bakugo. He has things he keeps under wraps, but only when they reach a certain point, he lets it out. This episode changed my opinion of him, it showed me his true self, and it showed me how so many others liked him.

Yeah, we all forget one thing. He is a kid. It is hardly a year we've been following Deku and him. He may be a bully but, it is the fault of those who praised him for his quirk and not for himself. Leading to him believing one's worth is tied to their quirk, and Deku being worthless. 15 years, his beliefs were built up. And we as the audience blame him for not changing. Acting like he is like Endevour, a grown man, an abuser. He is a kid, a bully who was who he was because of his upbringing. "I apologize. Sometimes I forget that you are children." That is an important line. We failed Bakugou too. Adults expected him to become a great hero. We expected him to be a typical bully. But he isn't. He is a flawed hero. Who should be treated for who he is.

Well, all that bakugo said meant that deku need to make a more combined Style, with his arms and legs, so he is more inpredictable, thats why deku said "got it"

Fun fact: In the manga, Bakugo is actually the one who brings it up with Deku while they're vacuuming and he says the same line about the punch pissing him off, but that the shoot style doesn't mix well with fists.

The moment you realize that Deku and Bakugo are actually 2 side of a coin about being a hero, one wanting to save other, the other to be victorious no matter the cost....They are perfect in terms of rivals and the fact they have 2 of the most versatile quirks give them so much room to grow ! They can learn from one another...also that advice at the end...it's true that if you only use one thing at a time like kicks, you get repetitive and can be predictable, mixing it up is a good strategy ! It was this episode where I truly loved Bakugo as a character because his guilt over the suffering of someone he cares about and him feeling responsible hits extremely close to home for me particularly because I felt the same thing regarding somebody I loved who died. As well as of course Clifford Chapin's fantastic performance as Bakugo and All Might hugging him really made me ball my eyes out. This show truly helped me recover from one of the worst moments in my life and helped understand myself and what I want to do with my life. Sorry if I come off as to sappy and making this a little bit personal but I've really enjoyed these reactions Zamber you really have helped through some tough times recently ever since you started MHA, Thank you and never forget that you are a good person.

Bakugo's VA did a great job. This is where I started to dislike Bakugo even more. He did everything to himself and then gets All Might to cover for his personal guilt by saying it was really his fault for not being a good teacher. Bakugo's own stupidity, not ignorance or pride but genuine stupidity, put him in his place. He doesn't get to feel guilty.

The part of the episode when you realize how Bakugo was horikoshi the creator telling you that your expectation of bakugo was wrong and that no ever really understood what he was feel. We just thought he was how we always saw him as loud mouth rude jerk.

Don't worry, All Might hugged him. It was brief, but long enough to screencap ;D What really always breaks my heart in re-watching this series is actually the interaction between Bakugo and his mom when Aizawa and All Might visit. She basically says to his face that it's Katsuki's fault for getting caught and it's played off humorously, but after this episode and realizing just how much responsibility Katsuki puts on his own shoulders, it's really just a sad moment where I want someone in the room to hug the boy and tell him it's not really his fault. The second sad moment is when the rock Katsuki breaks off with his AP Shot almost hits All Might and Deku saves him, Katsuki seems really pissed, possibly at Deku and angrily turns away telling All Might to be careful. Now we know Katsuki was beating himself up again for making All Might so weak he almost hurt him with a rock. Anyways, this is my favourite episode for how it's able to untangle the absolute mess of feelings between Izuku and Katsuki and somehow come out with a working relationship and rivalry where the both of them are going to mutually push the other to improve. Mix in the story beats, great fight choreography and animation, a secret shared between 3, Aizawa disciplining them, and the reactions of the other students, and this whole episode is just a joy to watch and re-watch~

It’s been said multiple times through the series that bakugo accels with reaction time and Deku tends to telegraph his moves like 4 seconds in advance. That advice is actually really valuable if deku learns to react faster and not stick his leg out as he’s jumping so you can see how he’s gonna kick. Deku switching up to his hands pissed him off but if you notice, he still saw it coming, so really the first part of his advice is the best anyway.

Man, I really love this episode. I remember first seeing it I cried so much, I also cried when I read it in the manga. I still believe Bakugou is going to blame himself about All Might, but not a much and it may be used against him. (No this is not spoilers from the manga, I would know I read the manga) Other than that I really want to hug Bakugou right now. All Might: I was going to lose my power anyway. In Bakugous head: *I made him lose it faster, He could have lasted a little longer if it wasn't for me* (No this isn't spoilers either ^^^ This is what I think he may think)

Yes, what Bakugo said was good. “When you added in punches, it really pissed me off” means he wasn’t expecting it and it through him off. So in future fights, Deku can use shoot style but mix in some punches and it would be effective.

As Soldier Cat said before, when Bakugou said that the combo pissed him, that was a way to say that the move was good.... This is one of the chapters that made me like Bakugou. You always see him so arrogant and determined about his power, but a few chapters show him like this... 8th episode of the 1st season showed him frustrated of loosing against Deku, 24th episode of 2nd season showed that he had to work with Deku and he wasn't ok with that... and this show us him being haunted by his sorrow, weakness and he feels guilty of the end of All Might's career... hw knows now that Deku isn't a weak person anymore and recognize him as a rival is something that he never thought as possible thing... I love how Clifford Chappin (his voice actor) performed this chapter... he and Nobuhiko Okamoto ( Bakugou's japanese voice actor) have done an amazing job with this amazing character... this scene breaks my heart and give me goosebumps everytime that I watch it no matter what language I choose...

Marcela Arratia I like how they’ve hinted at him having an inferiority complex prior to this, but it only really clicks after this episode. He almost always says “are you underestimating me” in a fight as opposed to gloating, and can’t accept help because he perceives it as an insult, which isn’t uncommon amongst people with inferiority complexes. He also only holds the kind of anger he has towards Izuku with one other person, which is Todoroki, who Bakugou himself said would beat him in a fight, hinting that the anger is like an animal who gnashes its teeth at something it deems a threat. Basically this anime/manga is really good and Bakugou is my favourite character

This is my favorite episode. Bakugou has a lot of emotions going on and it's kind of hard for us to understand. We, as the audience, can't look inside Bakugou's head. It's like if we were watching Naruto through the eyes of the villagers that hated him. We just don't know. And when you look at the start and you start to realize that he was dealing with this even at that point. After their first fight, he almost had a panic attack! And to be honest his mom was not helping with this. I love her, she's great, but to tell your child that he was just weak after being kidnapped? I don't think that's what your suppose to say to a kid that was just rescued from a very traumatic experience. And then you ad the slime villain, the USJ and then this. Just tell me who wouldn't be traumatized? Sorry for my rant. But I just had to let it all out. Btw great video even if I'm a bit late.

I think it was more so cathartic for him proving he's still better than Deku to himself since all this time he has felt his self worth was threatened by Deku over a misunderstanding when they were kids. Even when he won, he still wasn't satisfied. It's not like Deku has been one upping Bakugo, in fact Bakugo one ups Deku in almost everything except being sociable. It's just that he focuses too much on his failures and like Deku, has an incomplete ideal for becoming the greatest hero. They're almost like the same person yet still different

I cried the first time I watched the scene with Bakugou and All Might. And now, I'm crying again. Bakugou is one of my favorites and he reminded me of me. This had reminded me when I was in my depression days, when I lost my Great Grandma I held in all the pain to help others get through it. But then, someone reached out to me and noticed I wasn't myself. And I became better because of them. This was so emotional for me.

Something i didn’t realize til recently was that right before the dorms when Aizawa and All Might went around talking to parents, when they met Bakugo’s parents, *his mother literally yelled that if he hadn’t been so weak he wouldn’t have gotten caught and caused all that trouble* She probably didn’t have bad intentions but I hate that she said it. I really think she played a part in Bakugo feeling that guilt, even if he and his mother don’t/didn’t realize it

Bakugo is my favourite mha character hands down! But when I saw him break down all emotional like that for the first time it made me freeze. Like from the Bakugo in the training excercise and the one here he's changed so much. But I liked Bakugo ever since the first season. But now I'm in between Deku and Bakugo because this anime is just so lit. And I think they just did such an amazing job on it. I hope season 4 gets finished soon. But I can understand the amount of hard work and time put in to story plot animation. Me personally I think My Hero Academia deserves the top 10 if not top 5 spots for anime's with great animation's. But yeah SOMEONE GIVE MAH BOY A FUCKIN HUG OR SOME SHIT! But ya know sometimes I wonder what the others would say if they saw Bakugo break down like that. Its Naruto and Sasuke all over again lol. Bakugou is actually smart. In their academic exams, he ranked 3rd and is above deku because I believe deku is rank 7th? Its just that bakugou's intense feelings is overpower his intelligence when it comes in battle. He even helps Kirishima study. People often forgets this information because he fights with his instinct.

I knew Bakugou would win this fight. This would be the only fight he'd officially win. I first highly disliked Bakugou, but because of this scene I pitied him, in a way. When I first watched this, I was crying the whole time they were fighting, unable to keep my tears in. I have rewatched it several times, and each time, I shed at least one tear. Bakugou went from a character I highly despised, to one of my favorite characters.
