Its like Alchemy or chemistry, Overhaul is basically doing the same thing as when you combine oxygen and hydrogen you get liquid. He basically break down himself and the other dude on the ground so that then they can be fused together.

His quirk is Overhaul. It destroys things and puts them back together. The things to remember is that he can use it on *anything*, and he can put them together however he wants to. He destroyed himself and Confession dude and reassembled them together. He's effectively a Frankenstein monster at the moment if that helps. That's why he has the Confession quirk; because that dude's entire body is apart of his body now.

Basically, it seems a lot of people don't know why nighteye was hit. In the flashback, he explains that he didn't want to use his quirk to see far into the future as it would essentially cement it, so he only used foresight to see one second into the future, over and over again, to ensure that any undesirable future wouldn't be cemented. This meant that he couldn't use his quirk to the fullest extent, which left him open to the attacks. That's how I took it anyways, I was confused too until I realized what the flashback and what he said meant.

Was going to explain this lol. But what I'm confused on however, how does one destroy themselves and repair themselves after they've been destroyed? The only way I could see it working is if Overhaul destroys sections of his body at a time and over time destroys his entire body rather all at once to successfully fuse with someone without killing himself in the process. Daniel Craig Idk I think overhaul most likely destroyed himself to the point where he barely survived but was still able to restore himself. Not 100% sure about this because they never really went into too much detail about it.

@@danielcraig2070 My understanding of Overhaul's quirk is when it is activated he effectively assigns a before & after state to a section of matter. Then that matter breaks down & reassembles itself to meet the new requirement (unless it somehow gets interrupted part way through outside interference). So while the transformation is in process he isnt actually "using" his quirk, hes already used it & the effects are still taking place. So he grabs his ally, grabs himself, and assigns a "fused" state, then the quirk automatically does the rest while he's being disintegrated.

Since it has this auto function in a way when he gets disintegrated if its interrupted in anyway I'd assume he'd just stay disintegrated and die. Or if one could survive that, what would be left and would he be able to put himself back together? His quirk in general is just scary af to think about

Overhaul destroyed himself and the guy with confession quirk then restored both of their bodies fused together(just like how he can manipulate the restoration of the ground into SPIKES. He has good control over his quirk and he can do it fast too that's why he didn't die when he used his quirk to destroy himself. In addition his quirk works like a sequence. If he wants to ONLY DISASSEMBLE with his hands, He can, because he got good control over his quirk. It is also true if Chisaki wants to only RESTORE (just what he did in restoring the head of his aide--the guy sho shot mirio--. Which also means his quirk can activate in a sequence where he can DISSEMBLE then RESTORE. Thats why he can used it to fuse with his underling without dying. He did it to Rappa too the DISASSEMBLE/RESTORE sequence of his quirk. The reason why Rappa didn't die. Because if chisaki only use disassemble to a person wothout restoring the person quickly. The person will die(which is true with the Death of MAGNE). Thats why chisaki only uses his quirk on Eri's limbs. Because Eri might die. And btw if mirio doesn't took the quirk erasing BULLET, Eri would have died because her quirk is the reason she can live through all those overhaul's tortures. With that said. Now he can also use "confession" quirk and "Overhaul" quirk but there are limits. 1st: using his overhaul quirk will only apply on two hands. Him having 4 hands doesn't mean he can use overhaul quirk on all 4 hands. 2nd: he have healed his wounds after he fused with his underling.
