Classic song! I saw them live at a bar in my hometown in South Carolina in the early 90's. Most American's at that time only knew them for "Last to Know", and there was a very poor turnout for the show, but that did not stop them from putting on a GREAT show. They even took requests, and performed every one of them. Great group of guys.

1996...Cowboys Night Life in Greenville. Was lucky enough to see them twice in one week. Both the Greenville and Charleston shows were small crowds.

That was it Mark! Cowboys. I was thinking it was before 96, but you are probably right. I first heard them on a Charleston station actually. They played Be My Downfall and I actually called up the station to find who it was so I could go buy it. Small world. I grew up in Greenville. Born and raised. Moved away for a couple of years, but came back, and still here.

This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and Justin Currie's voice never fails to move me. Doc Walker's cover of this song in comparison is flat and lacks the intensity and feeling of this. I was lucky enough to see Del Amitri live at a small venue in NYC when I lived there in the 90s (I'm from England) and they were as brilliant live as on their records. Justin's voice is amazing. Anyone who loves this song should check out his solo stuff and Del Amitri's back catalog,

Love the song. It just sounds about 2-4 beats slower. Hate to criticize but the lead should have been better and closer or the recorded melody line. Iast thing the acoustic guitar intro was buried in the mix. Poor job sound board.
