South America being so low caught me off guard but the top 3 packs make a lot of sense to me. At first I didn't think Conservation made sense but considering the playerbase at large seems to be more scenery over animals, then it starts to make sense. Aquatic also was an obvious number 1. It added 4 iconic deep diving animals, a great rock set, great foliage, and scenery that still very much holds up. Its not my favorite pack but it still is extremely solid to this day. Lastly Arid being that low shocked me a little but I almost have to agree. I was really excited about the pack after seeing how good all the animals looked but after that kinda honeymoon phase with the pack ended the reality started to set in with me. Its the only pack that I stopped playing around with after only 1 week. I havent touched anything from that pack since it came out. The porcupine is still amazing but everything else hasnt aged well with me. I hate to say it but the lack of diversity made this a top 5 worst packs for me. It really brought almost nothing new to the table. But im glad you decided to post this! Very interesting to see how the different sides of the fandom vote on these sorts of things.

Hope Frontier does not abandon this gem of a game. There would still be so much potential in this game with further updates and constantly added animal-packs, that enrich the game. Such as more species, that are extinct in the wild or maybe those who have been declared extinct, but have been found living after time.

I think conservation is high because of the building pieces. And I'm glad Aquatic is first, maybe Frontier will understand once and for all, more aquatic animals!

Maybe this is just me but the Aquatic Pack I feel is heavily overrated. All of the animals have better versions of themselves. African Penguin, ASCO, Sea Lion and even though I don’t prefer the spectacled over dwarf caiman, we have so many other crocodilians. The Faux rocks are fine I guess, the only ones I use are the pebbles. The Wall is useful, same with the foliage panels but other than that nothing really excites me. It’s a pack that is exciting at first, but it gets downgraded as time goes on. Imo the Grasslands, Europe and North America Packs are the best.

I wouldnt say they have better versions of them a sea lion is not the same as the seal the 2 penguins are very different and come from different climates and the otters are fairly unique as well

The thing is though the Aquatic pack isn't ea key highly for the animals. It's ranked high because it has the best rock set in the game and also a couple of the best scenery pieces too.

I will forever be surprised that people didn't like the twilight pack. I'm a huge fan of spooky stuff, and the red fox is one of my favorite animals in the game! I have to tell myself not to get it for every single zoo I make!

The animals of the Twilight pack are GREAT 😍 But Halloween is simply not so popular everywhere in the world or at least not in the Netherlands.. its getting bigger now every year, but I personally never did anything with Halloween, so I can imagine why some people are not really into the spooky stuff as much as others 😊 That being said, I LOVE the spooky pack from Planet Coaster hahaha 😁 but thats a different game with different building intentions 😝

i think another reason the newest pack is so low might be because not as many people might own it. i personally usually wait for a 50% sale.

I use the conservation pack building items the most and I absolutely love the przewalski's horse so not surprising its ranked high 🥰

My favourite animals in the game are the Pygmy Hippos and the Przewalski Horse, and my favourite pack is Twilight, so I guess I am all over this survey 😂

Interesting to hear what everyones reviews are. When I got planet zoo, many of these packs weren't released or were recently released, so I did some research and bought the three that I felt were the most "worth it": Aquatic, North America, and South America. (I also got the deluxe edition) There were very few south+north american animals in the game prior to me adding those packs. In terms of "wishlist packs" after watching this I like the grassland, twilight, and maybe wetland packs the most, and I think those are all packs that came out after I bought the 3 i have. I have to admit I really want to be able to add a polar bear, it doesn't seem like a "real zoo" without a polar bear to me. I mean, the australia and tropical packs... darn, so many of them are cool!

Nice results! Such a hard survey because I love everything about this game so much. If you do this survey again, you should maybe take into account ownership, because someone who doesn’t have a dlc aren’t likely to have it in their top three, so the new percentage would just be No. of people who voted for it divided by no. of people who own it. It would also be cool just to see which pack is most bought.

I really didnt like the arid pack the only reason i got it was because of the sand cat so i get why it was so low but im suprised with the south america and southeast being so low. Twilight its probably my fav but i know a lot of people didnt like it

What i got from this is that the Southeast Asian animal pack isn't as forgettable as i thought, i was expecting it to be near last place, and overly themed build items are not very popular.

I feel like the rankings make a whole lot more sense when you take into account what animals are in a pack is almost irrelevant compared to what scenery and build items you get in it. Almost all the low ranked packs had either not very good or too specific scenery and items while the high ranked ones had all the scenery and items they're using in every zoo. I honestly bet if they'd released a mega pack of all the packs scenery and items without any of the animals people woild end up buying that and not bothering with the animals at all.

I would not know where to begin with a survey like this. I love all the animals, all the biomes, and when I build new zoos, I include as many different environments with as many appropriate animals as I can without breaking my game. 😄

I think it's more of a hard-core playerbase favorite. I'm not sure if the more casual audience really likes it that much. I believe when the forums did pack rankings it was ranked in the top 3 by most people if not number 1.

Super interesting! They do a pretty good job overall. I don’t think there’s a pack I dislike - I want all the animals 😂 but yeah some have stand out animals/themes or memories linked to them. I’d have to really look at what came with each in order to vote as I can’t remember 😅 Aquatic will always be number 1, it gave us something completely new and cool. Other than that, I’m glad the tops are all pretty close, it means they’re hitting the mark for most players/there’s a pack for everyone out there. The biggest surprise in this ranking for me was the twilight pack! I remember having so much fun playing that, it felt really different. Loved it! 🦝

I really don’t get why people like the Aquatic pack, it’s just lacking, yes it can with deep diving, but aquatic pack animals aren’t the only animals that Deep dive, the animals are just… meh, King penguins are a fine addition, but harbour seals over grey’s, north American river otter or sea otter over giant otter, and dwarf crocodile or Chinese alligator over dwarf caiman, the pieces are divided into two themes, cold and tropical, which adds less pieces if you want to do en complete theme, it old too, and compared to newer stuff it’s beginning to slightly show its age, some of the animations and models looks a bit worse than they newer DLC’s animals, for me it my 3rd least favorite pack, beating SEA animal pack- and arctic

And just gon say it, Aquatic kinda sucks, It is a really bad excuse for aquatic animals, And the faux rocks used to be more usable, But I geniunly think that these animals could all have been replacable, Grey Seal - California Sea Lion, Harbour Seal. King Penguin - Emperor Penguin Cuviers Dwarf Caiman - Black Caiman, Spectacled Camel. Giant Otter - Sea Otter, Asiatic Small Clawed Otter. None of them are memorable to me and it is a shame it will be our only full aquatic expansion...
