Thanks for the video. Won’t you need a reamper in between the interface and the effect pedal in order to raise the impedance of the line out of the interface to a high instrument impedance that the effect pedal is designed to receive?

You could use one and it would work fine but I haven’t found the need to use mine…

This actually gives you so much convenience over recording things, you can record your DI and then use any pedals you like afterwards. For my case, I wanted to know if it's possible to route signal from DAW to Digitech Whammy and then back to the amp-sim. The problem with VST pitch shifters is they are resource-heavy or introduce artifacts, while real pedal is able to pitch-shift properly without latency.
@PatPosse2 ай бұрын
You definitely can! I do it with Whammy's and Wah's all the time! It's always a good idea to keep a DI take clean and then "reamp" to pedals.. It's also great to try out different Wah pedals to see which one fits better on the mix or which one just simply feels better...

Always awesome and clear content without a load of talk shitteing 👌🤘 Is same principle for processor/amp modeller as Line 6 pod floor with tube screamer and analog delay as additional stuff (TS gives awesome flavour) ? Cheers bro and rock on! 🍻🤘

Correct me if im wrong but i though pedals needs instrument level to function as intended and the interface outputs at line level. How do you match them?

Hey Pat, do you know if I can do what you showed in this video but with Scarlett Solo 3rd Generation audio interface? I'm struggling to confirm this despite having researched for an hour plus now.
@PatPosse2 ай бұрын
You can’t. You’ll need at least 2 inputs to do this. 😢
@PatPosse2 ай бұрын
You might be able to get away with using a 1/4” to XLR converter and using both inputs, not 100% on it cause I don’t know if you can use both inputs at the same time… but if so, that might be your best bet as a work around 😉💪🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

@@PatPosse Hey Pat: Am I correct to understand signal chain being: guitar -> pedal(s) -> instrument level input of interface (amp simulator plug-in running inside interface) -> instrument level output of interface -> input of pedal(s) -> output of the pedal(s) -> another instrument level input of interface? Reason for asking: I'm looking at Scarlett 4i4 now and it only has line outputs (4 of them in total), and to my understanding, I can't really connect such output to a pedal for certain pedals might clip unless I get a device to attenuate the signal level going into the pedals?
@PatPosse2 ай бұрын
What you wrote is correct and it would do exactly what I’ve done on both videos. You should be able to fix that by adjusting your output levels 😉

I have Nux mg 30 multi effects pedal and a Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interface, I used headphones as a sound output.. pls guide me best possible settings on Reaper Daw… when I run my headphones out of Nux mg 30 the sounds are so good but when I do same from the focusrite solo it sounds very poor with latency and digital trash.. Please help
@PatPosse5 ай бұрын
Hi there, that's because your headphone output is probably amplified whereas your actual outputs are line level (meant to be amplified by an amplifier), I am NOT familiar with reaper, I tried it once when I was first getting started on my recording and producing journey but I hated it... I wish I could help you further and better than this...

How do you overdub wet & dry using a real looper pedal with audio interface, not a real amp & cab? ie: nueral dsp plugins ect
@PatPosse4 ай бұрын
I'd have to see what hookups it has but it sounds to me like you would have to output from the stereo outs to two different inputs and then balance the tracks accordingly on your DAW
