I’ve been using Riff and BiasFX 2 on my iPad with headphones for awhile now. It is an amazing app and has so many possibility and combinations. And with headphones on, it has an amazing stereo surround sound that is huge, can make it sound like you are in a concert hall. Great for not disturbing the family, traveling, or for trying new amps and pedal sounds.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the video! Just a quick question about the output audio. How come you are using the headphone jack instead of the 1/4" output jack already built into the RIFF?
@nehuge Жыл бұрын
Are you saying the tiny headphone out you can run into a large headphone plug with an adapter?
@stinemusiclessons Жыл бұрын
Yeah. It's 1/8'' headphone out and with an adapter you can use it with a regular 1/4" input.

Hey! Great video .. my question is where are you getting the sound from? Is it coming out of the iPad or is the iPad connected to a additional speaker ?
@stinemusiclessons Жыл бұрын
Hey! The interface is connected to the ipad and the sound comes from the headphones out of the interface to the guitar amp. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for commenting.

@@stinemusiclessons thank you for the response ! Last question.. would you happen to know if you can run the Spark foot switch or Airstep foot switch with Bias FX 2 ?

Hi, i see you are using studio One. It works even with Studio One Artist? Usually this version doesn't allow 3rd VST, or you are using a pro version of SO? Thanks
@stinemusiclessons Жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for commenting. The Studio One Version I have is the Professional. You might want to check with Presonus and see what they say. I guess you could use it as an interface to connect the guitar but I'm not 100% sure about the 3rd party VST's. Hope this helps.

How do I import my Bias FX 2 into my Studio one program??
@stinemusiclessons Жыл бұрын
Hi. Here's a link from Positive Grid on how to use the Bias FX as a VST in Studio One. However there are some limitations on using 3rd party plugins depending on your version of Studio One. Hope this helps. help.positivegrid.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024494452-How-to-Find-Record-with-BIAS-FX-2-in-Studio-One-

Thanks for the great review. So there's a looper in this less expensive device but they can't put one in the Spark software, right? Doesn't seem right to me. I also wish there were a way to add more devices to the chain like a equalizer AND a tremolo or an autowah and a fuzz. Or even a splitter like the RIFF has. Great opportunities being missed by Positive Grid. I shouldn't complain as I use my Mini on stage with a headphone to 1/4" cord and the Control footswitch. I just got the Go and use it with a very short 1/4 to 1/4 plug hanging the Go off the bottom strap lock. Pretty cool for great tones at home and busking. Surprising volume and tone from that little GO.

can you use it with a mic if you want to add a vocal track ?
@stinemusiclessons Жыл бұрын
Hi. Haven't tried it with a mic. Usually mics have a lower signal level so since this is designed for guitar I'm not sure it will work the same way. Maybe checking out some blogs or groups on the subject might help. Thanks for commenting! 👍

My iPad still has mic on when recording so picks up crappy when using the riff, as it's recording my guitar and what's going on in the room, (new to iPad pro mkii never had one before) what am I doing wrong in set up process, sounds bloody awful
@stinemusiclessons11 ай бұрын
Hi. It's probably something with the general setup on the ipad. Try to disable the internal mic so that it only gets the signal from the line.

Dont get BIAS products if you use Apple M-Series processors. It just crashes. I have had BIAS products since 2016. On intel it was fine. Now I cant use the standalone version or the plugin. I am media and IT professional, so I have done my due diligence. I was in contact with the BIAS support. This is truly some POS software. And it doesn't look like Im getting my money back. 100€ for absolutely nothing. Lovely.
