yo shoutout to Moste, the thumbnails are godlike and the editing has been clean. Sajam has been an FGC figurehead for a while now and its because of the amazing content he creates on (and off) stream, but you can’t understate Moste’s contribution to the success of the channel. It takes effort to edit videos like this, but to have a good sense of humor to go with it is going above and beyond. Hey Sajam can you make a short guide on defensive throws, like as a reversal option? Or maybe just reversal in general? I'm having a lot of trouble using them now that throws are actually punishable unlike Xrd lol, and Giovanna has not amazing reversal options.
@ButchLesbianSolBadguy3 жыл бұрын
Hey, not sajam here Idk if this will help or if you already know some of the stuff I'm about to say but might as well say something small even if its obvious Defensive throws are not so much an escape option but rather as a way to punish fake or badly executed pressure/oki (kinda like a dp), for example.... Sol wants to c.s meaty you but times it wrong by 5 frames, you can just grab him as it would basically be your best option as a whiff punish/punish during startup, but if he times it right you will most likely get counter hit As for fake pressure just look at leo, you can grab his run-through as its not a frame trap or a true blockstring, he's just kinda hoping that you'll respect him and let him get away with it instead of getting a good punish in

@gavin_is_gavin62923 жыл бұрын
One thing I didn't here you bring up in this video (maybe it is too basic, or maybe it is actually not gatlings?), but I noticed moves had different properties if you delayed them. I am a newbie to GG, and playing Sol, if I spam 5S,5H, it knocks them away, but if I delay the 5H instead, same moves, same damage, but the opponent is not knocked away allowing you to follow up with more. Is this also "delayed gatlings", or is that something else? (I doubt Sajam will see this, so if anybody else knows...)
@sanko1113 жыл бұрын
That's actually a different thing. Some moves like Sol's c.S or Ky's 2HS give this semi-juggle where the opponent gets lifted up slightly but they land back standing. Testing from Ky 2HS with an instant RC-cancel into his c.S, the c.S gives the same result as if it was hitting from the air, meaning the early parts of those semi-juggles are considered airborne. Because Sol gets his semi-juggle from a normal he can easily cancel into other normals, he can be picky with the timing. Ky can't do anything fast by itself from a 2HS, so this property isn't immediately apparent. tl;dr: those small lifting effects are technically airborne for a short duration
@gavin_is_gavin62923 жыл бұрын
@@sanko111 Thanks for the response, not sure if we are talking about the same thing. What I am sayin is if you very quickly input S,HS, the enemy will get knocked back and fly away from you, where if you Input S,HS with more of a delay between the inputs, the enemy will stay next to you allowing you to extend your combo. (sorry if that is what you were talking about, just didn't sound like it to me).
@sanko1113 жыл бұрын
@@gavin_is_gavin6292 You'll see it's the same because if you just make the opponent jump and hit them with an f.S they'll fly away the exact same as quickly after c.S.

@shifteleven3 жыл бұрын
So the Sol and Ky thing, 6P has upper body invulnerability, so Ky's f.S won't hit, but you extended Ky's hurtbox out with that long button to sol and now his 6P is hitting you. At least that's what I think is going on.
@heythatsme50003 жыл бұрын
@@shifteleven yea youre right. The hitbox for some moves in the game can be deceptive tho. I guess its just a matter of labbing it out haha.
@Amutsal3 жыл бұрын
@@heythatsme5000 To put an even finer point on what he said: generally speaking attacks have a hurtbox just like your regular standing character. If your opponent sticks his arm out for an attack you now only need to graze his fingernail (or sword tip in the case of some characters) to land a hit. And if you hit at max distance with a long attack of your own you can easily end up with silly looking fullscreen hits.

if they respect your pressure like let's say you normally end your string at a range with a frametrap special, sols gunflame for example. they will prob be scared of that options if they are really respecting you so just instant air dash in or dash in, a jump in could even work if they respect you. or do what the guy above said and wait. if they are in the corner you can still force them to stay there even if you dont have immediate pressure options. in the hope that you can force them back in the corner. Basically dont let them reset to neutral by threatening them with scary buttons. Those buttons stop being scary once they are blocked, they are at their most scary when you use them sparingly and upredictably.

Dudley and Ibuki in Third Strike and IV actually give a lot of the non-Sol cast a run for their money in terms of normal strings when such a thing used to be pretty much unfathomable for most anime fighters.
