I’m realising that the difference between someone experienced and someone newer when it comes to this is recognising that they’re actually doing this all the time and then adapting intentionally and not sub consciously. Recent milestone for me was playing against a Leo as Jack O and after they started using projectile more recognising that I needed to toss servants not kick or hit with normal to get over it. I think I’m slowly getting somewhere now

Fellow Jack-O player here. Had a similar experience of learning slowly but surely. After fighting a Gio player constantly in the 7th floor, I learned to efficiently use Jack-O's move where she crouches and sends her leg tied to the chain straight upwards to stop Gio's crossups. I was able to turn the tide and ended up winning more matches overall against this player.

Have you tried Sol 2HS? It has a big hit box and it’s out for a good amount of time. The only thing is that you have to do it preemptively since it doesn’t have any invulnerability and it’s a bit slow on start up.

I've gone through this quite a bit in the past 6 months or so. I'm a greatsword main in brawlhalla, but outside of bcx 2020 (when GS was incredibly broken) there is almost no top level footage of the weapon, so I've had to figure a lot of stuff out myself for matchups. Some of my bigger realizations have been finding out how amazing nlight is for punishing the normally pretty safe gauntlet slight, using recovery against particularly floaty axe players, and not panicking against blasters because, despite how much I get hit in neutral, they still cannot deal with my raw damage and kill power when I do get in. Still have no clue against bow or lance though :(

For me the big thing is learning that you can punish her when she does the zig zig dog as i call it (2.6.k i think) That helped me a lot Also, i just find that they normally have just a plan, they always do the same rotation on pressure and wakeup so i just abuse that Gio players are normally, in my experience, not very flexible in their gameplan Also in Sol i strugle less then when im playing Nago, Sol just has better close buttons

@@filipepires9860 hmm, well i've been playing this game for awhile and it's incredibly rare for anyone to punish me doing 236k, spiral arrow. she can cancel it from any normal, so if people expect you to do it after 5h, you'll get hit. if you do it anywhere else it's a gamble where you can eat a huge combo. not saying it's a bad idea or anything, but it's not the answer to the match up or anything.

@@AchedSphinx Maybe I explained myself poorly I can interrupt, with 6P, before the hit connects (as sol at least) It's not a big punish or anything, it's just a get off me tool that helps me reset the neutral I still find the matchup hard and theres a lot of other things that I need to work on, like blocking more in certain ranges because your far slash is basically Fullscreen :p But I would say I used to block 100% of the time before and couldn't see an opening, and now I have one consistent. The second one is getting used and confortably air grab people, really has been helping me with Gio, Milia (harder since she has 6M dashes in the air), and Pot wake up backwards megafist And third, 5k is a blessing on sol, and you basically can't do the jumping crossing up move (I can't for shit understand how you write inputs for this game, but 234.s I think) if I'm ready for it Then again, isn't a big deal, just helped me personally a lot having a breathing time after the spiral dog
