Wdym? The C&O never had any dash 8s, they were gone before the dash 8s started introduction. 6:30 the leading locomotive was a CSX ordered dash 8. 3:33:06 was an AC4400CW. CSX doesn't have any dash 9s in the 100 series. They are in the 9000 series.

Although commonly called "diesels," the locomotives actually are electrically driven. The diesel engine drives an alternator, which produces electricity to run electric motors mounted on the locomotive's axles.

Generator that is mounted on the same shaft that the engine has in it …. The traction motors that receive the energy produced by the shaft driven generator are “ axle hung “ traction motors , hope this helps …its still referenced today in the operating environment as an engine , rules , shops etc…

CINCINNATI BRIDGE The bridge in Cincinnati at 50:44 could do with a coat of paint...... It is false economy to let it deteriorate to the state where it will need lots more spending on it in due course.
