‘Just gonna go straight for the mot’ which translates as “I’ve done the illegal road test that 99% of us have done, off camera so you all stop moaning at me” 😂

However you could just book it in somewhere not that local, get lost on the way, handily have some tools in your bag... Actually, there must be some scope for the guy that has a test booked in, breaks down on the way and has to go home for repairs and reschedule. Sure the rozzers would buy that..

Bad audio, GoPro cameras have a rubish mic and it was sealed in a box too.. am always confused why it sounds like that on camera but nothing like that in real life, it never makes that dry rustling sound when I'm stood next to it, however the clutch is slipping a little as you may have noticed, so that will be an upgrade in the future...

Cell phones also produce bad quality because they don't transfer bass, most camera audio is made for human speech.

@@Moonfleet41 Was it this or the rat bike that you put the castrol magnatec in? Funnily, just off the phone with a Castrol technician who said - and I quote: *"I'd never put magnatec in a motorcycle"* - because I bought four litres as it was on offer, only to look online and read multiple posts on multiple websites saying never to use it on a bike - From what I understand, these clever oils that reduce friction in a car engine car wreak absolute havoc with the friction plates of a wet clutch! Oh well, I guess that's a couple year's supply of chain oil instead! D'oh! Live and learn... Cheers Del

Woooooo hoooooooooo!!!!!! Ohhh yeah baby!!!! Ok, I’ve watched this video three times now. The bikes looks bloody amazing Del, you and Penny should be extremely proud of yourselves. It looks even better out on the road than it does under the lights in the garage and , oh my, that exhaust note!!!!!!! I think that challenges my RSV4, we’ll have to introduce the two bikes together. Passing the MOT was never a doubt too. Enjoy the bike Del and I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with the paint job, although I am a massive fan of the black stealth look now!!!! Take care y’all!!!!!

Hey Dai, great to hear from you brother, awesome to know you think so highly of it! I think you're dead right, I think this and your Aprilia along the coast road would wake the dead in the next county, so we must set that up.. have a few little shakedown jobs to do and bed everything in, but once the spring comes come on down, always welcome buddy! I have all seen your videos of your project from beginning to end, and I have liked them all. I admire your work, you know how to work with all the techniques and you are a unique artist. Your work is very different and important because you teach people how to do things without the arrogance of those who know and believe themselves better than others. What I like the most is that you have done what you most enjoy doing. You are a great example for many including myself that having the skills of you I have not taken the decision to follow my dreams. Go ahead and do not sell yourself to television, your life is to do what you enjoy and love, money is good but do not change for what you do. My best wishes and I will be with you. Nice to see you finishing up on the Fighter build. Not really my cup of tea, but I really appreciate you attention to detail, the MOT pass on the first try proves that and willingness to learn new skills, such as the lathe and fibreglass lamination . I know you have detractors, but as I was told many years ago, "Don't let the bastards wear you down". Now I think it is time for a restoration project. I would suggest a Scott Flying Squirrel. They are just rare enough and ugly enough to make an interesting project.

Thank you for your kind words Jim, for that very reason the next build will be different in every way, not sure quite what yet, as we are still trying to source a donor bike, but we'll get there and be under way again soon! And as for the haters, their behaviour says more about them than it ever will about us! You are the person you project, don;t you agree?

I personally would love to see an adventure build. With more of a focus on what makes a bike more durable on the longer adventures (frame modifications for extra longevity, fuel tank mods for longer range etc). Reason for this is simple: I'm less inclined to buy a newer adventure bike with all the electronics because when they go wrong in the middle of Africa you're screwed. Something basic, but rugged. Obviously might not fit in your garage as you might not be an adventure rider, or appeal to the masses, but just a thought.

Cheers Rick, oh it's a long old road, but so worth it, the skills I've learned through this build have been invaluable, and I've enjoyed every moment of it, and when you get to ride a bike you've done so much to, you really feel a connection with it... let us know how you get on, the sense of achievement you just can't buy! Why don't' you build a British Bike Cafe Racer from Hinckley Triumph or from an old Triumph? Well done on the building you street fighter

@Moonfleet41 5 жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, am trawlilng through the small ads at the moment, really wanted to do something outrageous with a Hinckley Triumph, but try finding anything half decent for less than £3k, and as for a Meriden Triumph, forget it !! All projects start with a donor bike, but it has to be sound if you're gonna put years of work in to it, but thinking caps on, we have a few ideas!

I get enthusiastic just watching your enthusiasm. :) Once again, great job, even though that doesn't really cover it does it? 2 years and 9 months of patiently tinkering. It must have made that ride all the more joyful. I think you deserve a rest. If you want a project for your lathe in the meantime, how about a custom metal logo fitted to the tank or the alien bit? Best wishes to you and Penny!
