I think they have removed Mail from settings! It’s no longer there for me. When I search the only option is Apple mail, which I don’t use.

Hi. You seem very tech savvy and responsive to your viewers maybe you can help me as I’m having no luck finding the answers anywhere to what I’m trying to do. So I accidentally deleted my “ALL MAIL” folder. Didn’t realize it really was really all my mail. So I had to retrieve my lost emails. Which I have. Then I accidentally deleted a few labels. So now my emails are not sorted and I have to go through looking for them. So I have to go through my trash folder mainly to restore them but I have 50,000 emails in there and trying to go through them page by page is painful. I already have it set to the max 100 per page but it hurts my eyes looking through them. I know I have a lot of emails from certain ppl or promotions. Within my trash folder, I search by word, I only have the option to put it in the trash not to delete forever. So if I delete them nothing happens because I’m already in the trash folder and that’s where they are being told to go. But I want to permanently delete in bulk by word search in the trash folder. To cut this folder down some and make my life easier to go through. Do you know how to do this?

Hi Julie, wow that sounds like no fun at all! A couple of questions. Are you trying to do this on your phone or on a computer? If not a computer, I think it would help. The first thing to know is your emails in your trash folder will stay there for 30 days and then be permanently deleted. There really isn't (that I know of) a way to clean out your trash in Gmail. It just happens automatically. Given you can't clean your trash folder, I would use the sort "from" and begin moving chunks of emails back to my inbox. You can also highlight an email and right-click, scroll down to "find emails from..." and search for all emails from that sender. Then click the "select all" in the top left-hand corner. If there are more emails in the conversation, in the top center area of your screen it should ask if you want to select all emails found in the search. Hopefully, that helps with the 100 display limit. Please let me know how it goes. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it. @@358studios hi yes doing this on my computer. I had thought about it more and it made sense for me to just take everything in the trash folder and add it back to my inbox. So I can do a word search from my inbox and dump those emails back into my trash folder so I can empty as I go. Trying to get the bill down. Was at 50K, down to 18K now. Slow process but I’ll feel better once I’m done and everything is organized.

Hi there, what email are you using? Is it Gmail? If it's not showing you delete when you swipe it's probably because something was missed or your phone needs to be power cycled. Try that and please let me know how it goes. I hope that helps. Cheers.

Thank you for your reply. I have an iphone 12 and I use gmail. When I go to the gmail app on my phone and swipe to the left or right it shows archive. If I go to the "mail" app on my phone and use the gmail inbox from there within the "mail app" and swipe to the left trash does appear. So in other words when use the gmail app it does not work, but if I use the mail app and then go into gmail inbox from there it will show trash. Thx @@358studios

first I would like to thank YT for not posting the date this post was made. Oh yeah, That's very helpful. I have to research the comments to get an idea of when it was posted. Thanks YT. now, No mention of what version of the OS you are running on your phone. I have no "Mail" icon on my phone. I have a Gmail icon but not simply Mail. I'm running 16.5.1 All the sub-labels in Gmail is very confusing. If I delete something from All Mail, is it gone forever? If I have saved something into a folder I created, but it also shows up in All Mail, I delete it from All Mail does it also delete it from the folder I placed it in to start with? What a pain in the ass.

I agree with you. KZbin is definitely getting to the point much quicker, and so are a majority of my new videos. :) While that has become the new norm on KZbin, one of the things I tried to do is make videos for the lay person as well as the technically savvy. The lay person needs the overview of the need and the "why", and the tech savvy just needs to know where to click and what to look for. I appreciate other KZbin's using chapters and I'm trying to do the same. Lots of work though. At least the effort allows people to skip ahead if they want. Thanks again for the conversation.
