I agree! She was PERFECT for it. She is a very underrated actress, IMO. Despite her Oscars, I still feel like she doesn't get the respect she deserves for being such a great character actress. I watched a few interviews and realised he is MUCH happier than either Darcy. nad funnier too He is pretty good at expressing his opinions and not being proud or arrogant if you see him as himself. Well done! When I originally read this part in the book (described as a recording of the interview, which the publication for whom Bridget was freelancing chose to transcribe and publish in its entirety), I nearly fell off my bed laughing/crying. Glad the director chose to film this, both actors are masterful with their facial expressions, and Renee totally captures Bridget's personality. "Spored his own gender"?! WTF? (I think she meant "spawned his own genre, but it's clear that Bridget believes she's being perfectly clear and has spoken the correct words, as she just twice repeats more slowly what she said the first time when Colin requests clarification. Classic Jones!)
