The 'no more than one folders deep' thing only applies to script mods. Regular CC can be up to 5 folders deep!

Peacemaker is a must for build mode CC. They have CC packs that fill in the missing pieces for in game stuff, like extra windows and doors for Strangerville or a loveseat and chair to match the sofa in Crystal Creation. Doors to match the greenhouse windows in life and death, etc.

I know people have issues with who owns curse forge, I think? But honestly, once you use curse forge, you can't go back. It makes downloading CC a breeze, updating them a breeze. I truly love it!

I actually had issues with more complicated script mods like Better Build Buy. It wasn’t working properly when I downloaded it from Curseforge. So these mods I actually download manually - as well as the ones that aren’t findable on Curseforge like all the Wicked Whims stuff 😄

It's daunting yes but a bit of advice watch other sìmmers organizing their mods folders for inspiration then note down the creators names anywhere on your device so you know who to search for . Also label folders

Sims 4 Mod Manager is a must have! Helps you organize, label your folders, alerts you to dupes, conflicts and bad cc.

I recently did this as well, after having a 125GB CC folder wherein about 100GB of that was one of those "MY SIMS 4 CC MEGA FOLDER DONWLOAD" (Please, do NOT download these.. They're quite literally full of old, outdated, buggy clothing and objects and it WILL eventually break your game). I made a folder and a ton of sub folders, all organized etc but I've already lost interest.. I don't even know if I can stomach playing Sims 4 again; something inside me misses it.

I spend no less than a 1.5 weeks whenever I start from scratch. Find, download, organize, re-tag (SO MANY DON'T TAG THEM PROPERLY), and then verify they're decent. It's pretty much any hobby convention is actually "Line-con". The pain ain't worth the investment, but we somehow love it 😋

If you're worried about things like files not being in the right place in your Mods folder, I'm sorry if I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but get PlumbBuddy. I actually find downloading CC so relaxing. I go into a zone of just click this, click that, click this and repeat. I also try to keep my CC folder clean (ish?), but it kinda sucks when something is broken and the icon in CAS for said broken thing doesn’t have the creator’s name on it.. So I end up just leaving the broken thing in my game lol.

It all started when I clicked on one of your Wicked Whims Videos… and now my mod folder contains multiple gb of mods and CC 😅 I’d love it if you explored more of the mods that require WW to run? I don’t think you can show a lot on KZbin visually - but maybe recommend some that you think are worth downloading. I think this would help a lot of people, because this is when I constantly feel overwhelmed. They aren’t always cross-compatible and I can’t tell you how many hours I already invested in fixing my game 🙈

I gave up on using CC because I kinda fell out of love spending more hours shopping around the internet for it, than using it. I just want mods to enhance GAMEPLAY instead. Plug in and play kinda thing. I always always always play with Wonderful Whims, Meaningful Stories, Smarter Self-Care and some Lumpinous mods (Mood Pack, First Impressions, Road to Romance) - if anyone has any maxismatch/vanilla+ mods I'm all ears.

If you want to change things in the game without resorting to overloading your brain with a ton of cheat lines to remember, you should definitely get UI Extension and the MC Command Center. UI Extension allows you to use useful cheats like "ResetSim" with just a shift-click away. MC Command Center even has the ability to change aspects in the game, like how fast time progresses, or how fast you gain skills, and the maximum age count for any age stage.

i reorganized my entire cc folder that had probably 10k cc and mods and i had them organized by the creators name like “[Unify] CC SIMS4” and it was so much easier to find broken mods and alot more conveinient in deleting ones you dont like in my opinion and cutting cc that was only one item. and the cc i downloaded that had no creator names i would put them in a “no name cc” folder

I miss my CC so much. I had to delete all my CC content recently. I downloaded the Cosy Gamer Kit a few days ago, and before that, I never had any issues with my game.
