In this video I talk about my path of thought, studies, discovering Continental Philosophy, teaching myself French to read contemporary works, moving to France 44 years ago, attending the seminars of Deleuze, Lyotard, Foucault, Serres, my conceptual revolution reading Zizek's LESS THAN NOTHING, and the genesis of my heuristic hypothesis of a Zizekian-Deleuze.

I hope you are planning on continuing this dialogue and releasing more episodes. T. Blake is brilliant, we need more of the type of discussion you managed to put out; serious, down to earth and of high philosophical value, not to mention the huge potential Deleuze-Žižek-Hegel(-Nietzsche) trajectory opens up.

We will definitely be continuing to dialogue, and hopefully much more! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and offering your perspective here.

An excellent consideration of the possibilities of bridging Deleuze and Žižek, along with the relevant meta-logic. It’s such a beautiful notion to imagine a philosopher asking at the end of their life, “What is philosophy?” which is to ask, “What have I been doing all my life?” It’s interesting to associate de-terrorization with self-relating negativity, and I like the language of “a bridging concept” (I also think a lot about that tension between finding similarities between thinkers versus emphasizing differences-that’s big). It was also great to consider “The Owl of Minerva” as not just the end but also the start of something. Really wonderful to see Terence Blake here-he does amazing work!

Delightful presentation and a tour de force from the venerable Terence Blake. The depth of reading in this conversation is a pure joy. Lacanian real is the psychoanalytic real. The psychoanalytic real becomes the subject of decolonisation and a plateau of the real in meta-analysis. 19:15 hmm. Relation and non relation in machine facade and enunciation. 23:30 existence of concept and presence of anxiety. 54:00 imago sublation and essence. More work desired, no? 1:03:00 Nietzsche? Explosion of the unconscious

nobody ever explains why the rather sensible opinion that deleuze is a manifest charlatan is so very underrepresented ... ... although, i think comrade cedell last making the observation that deleze's development somehow reflects hegel's logic .. with it's cycles of sublation, is a a kind of surreptitious acknowledgement of at least some of deleze's ubiquitous performative contradictions...

You correctly pinpointed the main disparity between these two philosophical lineages, namely the blatant disregard for Nietzsche's philosophy from the side of Ljubljana Cartel. They are as dishonest about the source for the concept of the unconscious as Freud is, not only denying Nietzsche the primacy in discovering the unconscious, but also hiding Bergsons contributions in that field (Matter and Memory came out five years before Freud's "dreambook"). For your bridge, or meta-logical rêverie to work (or function as Deleuze would say) a multitude of Aufhebungen must occur, some of them you already mentioned, like aufhebung of Žižek's straw man that even Sam Peckinpah wouldn't be ashamed of (Bodies without organs, sic!), while few others would be: Nietzsche's anti-dialectics and his negativity of the positive, Deleuze's general anti-Hegelianism, the problem of contradiction that "didn't kill anyone yet", the question of desire, and so on and so on (as Žižek would say). The question "is this possible?" I will answer with another one: "what is impossible for dialectics?" Well, nothing, since dialectics is a fiction, a mystification. Ljubljana Cartel can dialectize the hell out of anything, and so it can do it with D&G's post-structuralism. So we can pose another question: "what would it be worth?". For dialecticians it might work, could be used for their never ending analysis, endless issuing of invoices. But for true Deleuzo-Guattarians, and this does not include those shitty Landian accelerationists, this bridge has been burnt long ago, when "dr." Lacan left Deleuze hanging in that Parisian waiting room...

...this reaction has the movement and structure of a dialectic...

@@tsenotanev You just proved my point, one can point at anything and say "Hey, it's dialectics!" The negation that you find here, like some dialectical bloodhound, is just "the negativity of the positive", see: Deleuze, _Nietzsche and Philosophy,_ "The Sense of Affirmation" p. 203. And, btw, there is no structure, just the virtual and the actual, the molecular and the molar, that's why it's called post-structuralism...
