Being an Wikipedia editor since 2018 to 2024, I can explain it. When an editor registers himself on Wikipedia for editing purpose Wikipedia only collects Name, Surname & email id (option) of the user. Even Wikipedia suggests its editor to keep their username random without exposing real name or so. But if a wikipedian publishes information about himself on his user page, then data could be gathered from that concerned user page, else Wikipedia hardly has any info about its users except and email. The most Wikipedia can, is to block or ban that IP address (for temporary period or for indefinite period) from which any particular user was committing unconstructive edits or vandalising articles.

Our Judicial system should do what is legal but the Govt cannot blindly defend a private company. ANI, a private company can order Govt to block another private company like Wikipedia? Is it not a strange thing??
