I grew up a second generation English Scots in Utah. I had a bit of a tough time, many people don't get the humour, language nor cooking style differences. I am now an old woman of 66, living in The Great State of Texas. This brought me Nan back full face. I did not realize or remember, I guess, just how much it all meant to me until watching these videos. What a brilliant Christmas treat I say, with tears running down me face. Thank you for the fine prezzie! Dear Delia Smith Fan- Happy Christmas.

My children and I were never a fan of Christmas pudding until your recipe. It has united our whole family. This year my 30 year old son (youngest of 6) has requested to learn the Christmas pudding recipe. I sent him your video which I did not know existed until today. I suggested to do a total English Christmas just using your recipes. I can't tell you how excited I am about this. You don't know me but you have given me the best Christmas gift of all time. I am so delighted to find these videos ! I have watched many TV cooks over the decades but very few have come any where near St. Delia of Norwich. I like to think of my self as a competent cook but when I have made a Delia recipe, often so simple and straightforward, that’s when I get the compliments. Coincidentally,at this moment in time , on my kitchen bench, steeping in port, are the dried fruits for her classic Christmas cake. ……..To be made this afternoon and I know the cake will turn out perfectly. Thank you again for putting these programmes on KZbin x

Our family love Delia, mostly because she has rescued me on more occasions than I care to admit!! She really is our "go to girl"....... "what does Delia say?" is a refrain you will hear often in our house. We have most of her books, and like her cooking, they are labours of love. Now we have two married adults who have introduced "Delia" to their respective spouses! Just as we were introduced by a Mother who understood that sometimes you need a "Delia" in your kitchen!
