This woman inspired the non - cook in me to cook. Delia Smith is the BEST, and so very elegant, yet accessible.

Although I have, I think, every Delia book ever published (apart from the cheats' one!) there is nothing like watching the nation's favourite Home Economics teacher in action. It's not just about the cooking, it's also about a refuge from all the noisy, competitive, gimmicky, cookery programmes that are more about someone's over inflated ego than learning how to become a competent cook. Thank you very much for posting these.

Completely agree, my thoughts entirely. I've just been watching James Martin on the Saturday show off which prompted me to look for Delia.

I remember my mum recorded the three series of this and then gave them to my brother as a joke christmas present. I was in on the joke and didn't mind too much as in her opinion he needed them as I already knew how to cook. Even so he didn't see the funny side

Loved Delia for years.... none better❤❤ Tiny question, why did Delia stop calling it balsamic vinegar, and change it to "bassallmic"? Or do I pronounce it wrongly?😊
@Arrian11113 ай бұрын
Delia is quite notorious for her awkward pronunciation - Who-muss (Hummus) and Tumour-ic (turmeric) are two for which she's been affectionately mocked. Nobody can knock her field of expertise though!

@deliasmithfan5 жыл бұрын
nash jods it was only released as VHS and can be found on eBay. Then use a transfer service to put it on dvd for around £10

What is the range of pans she's using?
@deliasmithfan4 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith. The non-stick pans are by German company SKK. She’s recommended them before and you can see the logo on the lids in one of the shots! They’re excellent. I think the one she is using may be a shallow casserole pan. The aluminium pans are probably by Silverwood, but I’m not sure. Hope that helps.
@keithsnell4 жыл бұрын
@@deliasmithfan Thank you! Yes, the aluminium are Silverwood. I have some German pans made by Voll, which are similar to those she's using. Thanks for the name of the brand!

I would absolutely never use aluminium cookware, even if it is not proven that it can cause Alzheimers.
